Exceeded my expectations!

The Leslie Hotel has the most incredible managers/employees who made our stay in Miami’s iconic South Beach neighborhood memorable. It is a stunning historical Art Deco boutique hotel that has sleek contemporary rooms and bathrooms (with a rain shower!) and a sliding glass door that opens up to views of the beach & Ocean Av. Ascent to the rooftop pool & hot tub and feel like you have been transported to the Deco era, with brand new sofas, loungers, tables (with outlets nearby if you need to work off your laptop) plenty of umbrellas and views of the ocean! Centrally located, steps away from the gorgeous Boardwalk, Versace Mansion and local dining & clubs. The front porch is perfect for BYOB & glam people watching! There’s also a gym. (Should have taken more photos..the 3rd one is the rooftop which was used as the backdrop in my photoshoot) We loved it so much we already booked a future stay. If I could ..I would give it 6 stars! VERY IN DEPTH FAMILY REVIEW: MUST READ BEFORE STAYING
Jan 3rd, 2021
Cons: - HORRIBLE NOISE at night: DO NOT STAY HERE WITH CHILDREN OR IF YOU WANT TO SLEEP, my family could not go to bed until midnight on some nights because the hotel to the right called "The Carlyle" has a restaurant that has blasting base and music pumping through the street and the walls of the hotel are paper thin so you can hear everything. Thankfully, there is a curfew in place until 12 am so at 12 am they were forced to turn the music off, but this is unacceptable for people who are trying to sleep unless you are someone who stays out till at least 12 am. - THE WALLS ARE PAPER THIN: There were men staying in the room next to us talking at average to loud volume and it was extremely irritating, we could hear everything they were saying because the walls are so thin. Also, many guests at the hotel would slam their doors early in the morning which would wake fellow guests up - DISGUSTING POOL SITUATION: There were people having s*x in the hot tub, this is REVOLTING behavior especially for families. Also, there were random men in suits taking pictures of the guests lounging at the pool area, including minors, which is creepy, and they claimed they were designing a "rooftop yoga session" which we had yet to hear about so I am assuming they were lying. There was also an ant problem and many ants were on the ground, along with a rusted electrical box which is unsafe especially around the pool. There were also ants around the pool area. - BEACH: There is easy access to the beach, however, the beach chairs they provide are pathetic. They are rusted small little chairs, you can't even lay back on them it is ridiculous. When asked about the chairs, they gave us different chairs that one would use when watching a soccer/sports game but the backs are straight up so you can't even sit comfortably. No umbrellas provided. - ROOM: There were scratches on the floor, strange stains on the decorative pillows, and the "closet" they have is meant for only 2 people at most, there is barely any storage for your clothes, my family had to live out of our suitcases. The rooms are EXTREMELY small. Our door had trouble locking at times which is unsafe. No place to put suitcases either. There is horrible lighting in the room especially in the bathroom, it is basically like candlelight and you cannot see yourself enough to even do makeup. - BATHROOM: NO PRIVACY! There is a large gap between the door of the bathroom and the wall so if someone were to walk by they can see everything. The door to the bathroom is frosted glass, and ours had trouble closing. When we spoke to the front desk they claimed it was because they gave us a handicap room and the door is not meant to close, but this makes no sense especially for families. The shower curtain is easy to see through if you are looking hard enough, and the wall that the shower is on wasn't even a wall, it was just frosted glass so the rest of the family could kind of see you showering which gave no privacy. Along with this, there is no maid service which is annoying, so we requested extra towels and a lot of them had disgusting long pieces of black hair on them - AIR CONDITIONING ISSUES: Our temperature control was messed up during our stay, and the staff came in multiple times to reset the temperature control thing and to clean out the vent and change the filter. However, the air conditioning still would not work and they ended up having to bring in a huge fan which made it so we couldn't walk easily through the room since it is so small and we had our suitcases on the ground. Pros: - Great location, easy beach and restaurant access - Rooms are modernly decorated - Nice rooftop area - Staff is nice and was able to assist us throughout our stay, always a doorman at the front to open the door for us - Upgraded to an oceanfront handicap room for free (we did not need a handicap room but that was the biggest one they had) because we had a large group, however it is strange they consider a family of 4 "large" when that is an average family size - Free breakfast at the restaurant to the left, it was decent - Great view of ocean drive from ocean front room - You can see the beach from the ocean front room and there are many palm trees to look out at which is nice TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Great Hotel by South Beach with one but!
Nov 30th, 2020
This was a wonderful hotel with great staff, great food, great rooms and great amenities. The only issue is that the hotel has limited rooms that lead to an outside view so by default they tend to be dark during the day. But if you take advantage of the pool, beach or venture off, then this hotel will be a satisfying stay as it was for us...and without a resort fee. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
