Good Hotel

May 24th, 2019

This place is called the Lakeshore Hotel and Suites. We had stayed here a couple of years ago for a short overnight. This trip also was for one night. It is a good hotel, nothing fancy. It shows a little wear and tear, but I had a room with new carpet and a new mattress and it was supplied with a good size refrigerator and a microwave. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Very close to the center of town. No free breakfast but there is a restaurant on-site. Did not use the pool or workout rooms but both looked okay. Room rate was exceptional for this time of year. Disappointed - Lakeshore hotel was Centerstones/Lexington/ Holiday Inn,

May 22nd, 2019

this is the Lakeshore now We stayed here for four nights and on first impression of the room which my cousin had so kindly upgraded us to the presidential suite we thought wow, it was clean but... the the jacuzzi bath on two attempts to use tripped the electrics. This was sorted but no follow up during our stay no real apology or anything. If there is going to be a big jacuzzi bath in the bedroom you should be able to use it!! We were not able to. Also the towels were really budget type real thin and small. Reception staff didn’t really take notice of you coming in and out and were eating on reception whilst on duty! Doesn’t seem right. Also Having to to disturb somebody who was on their mobile phone when checking out although I did appreciate boarding tickets being printed out for us thank you. I think the hotel has such good potential it was convenient for our visit to family and the location is great. Also sadly the restaurant attached although separately run had no licence whilst we were there so no beer or wine could be sold. Needs some attention and could be really good. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Dated

Mar 29th, 2019

The rooms are dated, windows don't open, carpeting old. Gone down hill. The hvac system is dusty.. Some parts of bath rusted out. It really needs to be refurbished completely. Maybe take out carpeting and put wood floors or linoleum. The a/d is very loud, can't sleep with the noise of it. Not very friendly. limited restaurant hours. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Not Our First Choice

Mar 23rd, 2019

I reviewed this property in 2014 when it was a Lexington, and felt I should update my review now that the property has been re-branded. When it was a Lexington (and a Holiday Inn before that), the common areas were not well-maintained. These areas were cleaner during our current stay, except for a broken exit sign in the hallway leading to our room. It hung from the ceiling by one bolt (instead of two). It was illuminated, but askew and unsightly. It looked like someone had leaped into the air to "high-five" it, knocking it part-way down. The staff member at the front desk was friendly and helpful when he greeted me upon arrival. The next morning, the woman behind the front desk was not friendly -- not even acknowledging us as we came into the lobby. I believe that she's worked there during the hotel's previous incarnations. There is a bar and restaurant on site, and others are within walking distance. And the hotel is conveniently located -- especially convenient when one of the craft fairs is taking place downtown. They also have a decent swimming pool on site. The room was quiet, and the bed was comfortable. The climate control in the room worked properly. The bathroom had a tub and shower combination, and the vanity was amply-sized and accommodated all of our toiletries. But the room was in disrepair. The bathroom door wouldn't close all the way, the toilet seat was loose and wobbly, and the tub faucet leaked. The towels were thin. The maid failed to clean our room one day, and on another occasion, she didn't arrive to clean the room until late in the day -- after we were back from a day of sight-seeing and wanting to rest undisturbed. There were no complimentary pens and notepads in the room. And the window didn't have sheer curtains -- there were only blackout curtains. So the room, while clean, was shabby and a little depressing. We usually stay elsewhere when visiting Fountain Hills, but our first choice was booked so we settled for a room at the Centerstone. It's a shame that this place can't take it up a notch in the areas of service and maintenance, because in terms of location and amenities, it has a lot going for it. And it is reasonably-priced. Needs work

Mar 20th, 2019

This hotel is now called the Lakeshore hotel. I stayed at this same hotel 10 years ago and it has really gone down hill. It is in serious need of maintenance and cleaning. The same garbage that was in the elevator on day one, was still there on day five. The mirror in my room that fell off the wall (apparently) was just setting on the floor. The tub was leaking about a gallon every couple of minutes. No stopper for the sink ( to shave ). The lighting was so poor that I could hardly see in the room. The light replacement in the bathroom was quite hilarious. New ownership obviously does not know how to maintain a hotel. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
