A very special base of operations for hiking and biking amidst the bright yellow aspen

Sep 28th, 2020

My wife and I absolutely love coming here. Rod and Katie, at the front desk, were incredibly courteous, professional and welcoming. The room was carefully and thoughtfully designed and equipped. The landscaping is stunning and overlooking the subtle white noise of Gore Creek. The staff does back flips to make you feel like very special guests. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Superb Experience

Aug 16th, 2020

My wife and I have stayed at the Lodge many times. The only time we didn't enjoy it was when we came in one August during a heat wave. It was a little toasty, but us Texans are used to that. Every time we have stayed at the Lodge, we have left with a smile on our face. The place was perfectly clean with everything in working order. It had been properly sanitzed and was ready for us. We stayed 7 days and so enjoyed our time in one of our favorite towns. We will never stay any place else. First class, friendly, comfy ... like being at home! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Lovely time in Vail

Aug 13th, 2020

We've always had a good experience at the Lodge at Lionshead. People are friendly and very accommodating. This time around Katie not only helped us with reservations, but also moved us to a better condo without being asked. She was equally delightful in person during check-in. Pool and hot tubs were a delight. Our unit had two entry doors, which was nice as the back one led to a staircase that led to the pool! The location is great - a 1 minute walk to the main Lionshead bus stop. The pool also backs on the Gore Creek trail, which is a delightful walk. Parking is included and they have bikes onsight that you can borrow! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Nice Visit

Jul 17th, 2020

We had a great visit in July of 2020. We went with the two bedroom diamond room. Here were the great things: 1. Location- I don’t think there is a better location for Vail. Small grocery next door (REALLY expensive but good selection), in the middle of the good restaurants, and VERY quiet. 2. Room- so clean and in really good shape. Kitchen was very well stocked and the management provided great in room amenities. Showers were really small but fine. 3 bathrooms which was a great surprise. Lots of comfortable room for our family of four. No A/C but the downstairs was much cooler than the top flour and comfortable for sleeping. The fans provided helped. I would assume that the heating system and nice fireplace would make for a comfortable room in the winter. I didn’t use the grill on the patio but it was a Weber with gas hooked up to the unit. 3. Front desk- very nice and efficient check in and out. I borrowed a bike to ride on the awesome Gore Creek path in back of the hotel. Bike check out was easy and the bike was in excellent shape. So-so’s: 1. They don’t guarantee beds which is understandable. My fault, I should have requested a king size bed for my wife and I. The queen felt small to us and had really creaky springs. Notably, the kids room was perfect with two single beds. 2. View- I think most rooms in our phase had a pretty good view of the mountain, creek, or trees. I was expecting with the highest tier of units they have that the view would be the best they offered. Our room did not have a good view. Driveway, a white condo complex, and some trees. The condos were the focal point. I had envisioned sitting out on the patio a lot and enjoying the surroundings, but didn’t. Otherwise great stay and I would stay again. I would definitely make a bed size request and would ask for a suite in the rear of the building with a view. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
