The new “go to!”

Jan 21st, 2020

We have tried most of the hotels in Tucson seeing as our daughter lives there and so where the grandkids are.... here we come. This trip started at Thanksgiving and with the report of heavy rains, we called the Lodge and met Kristina.... who was so helpful and moved our non-movable reservation through Hotels.com. So we came this weekend and fell in love. The rooms are quaint and the grounds are filled with interesting art. But as in any great hotel, it’s the staff. Headed by Kristine, everyone falls into line. So friendly and good at what they do. The hotel is very central to all the spots we wanted. Pool and jacuzzi perfect and the restaurant that we used for breakfast and late night cap was just great. We were fortunate enough to to be upgraded to 108 and just loved it. Our new GO TO in Tucson!!! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Great place, friendly staff, good location

Jan 14th, 2020

I stayed here in the deluxe queen room with my aunt and uncle. Every member of the staff we encounter was very nice. The pool is open 24 hours and the water is very nice even in January! Facilities are well landscaped and the rooms were clean. Beds were comfortable. The location of the hotel is close to many attractions. Breakfast was good and the breakfast area and dining room is adorable. The courtyard reminded me of my times in Spain! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Lodge on the Desert

Great hotel. Very clean and large rooms. Our room had a gas fireplace, which was very nice. Service in the hotel bar was a little slow, but staff was very friendly and apologetic for being slow. Just a short ride from downtown and football stadium. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

A Cozy Stay

Jan 6th, 2020

We spent two nights here while visiting the U of A. We had our dog with us and it did not phase the staff at all. We had a quiet corner room with a beautiful kiva fireplace, which we used extensively as the nights were cool. Great on site restaurant with a hearty breakfast buffet included with our room. The pool area is lovely and the hot tub was exceptional. We will definitely stay here again—especially if our daughter chooses the U of A! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

A HIDEN GEM IN THE DESERT

Jan 6th, 2020

The Lodge on the Desert is an absolute must for those of you who do not want to stay in the same old hotel. The history of this hotel is evident in the older part of the property with its many rooms tucked in to beautiful garden surroundings and classic southwest adobe architecture. From the lovely lobby, pool/hot tub, cosy library with fireplace, very nice indoor and outdoor dining, bar, delicious FREE breakfast buffet, lots of FREE parking within the surrounding walled in property, to the very comfortable rooms, a perfect stay. The entire staff including the GM Jim were exceptional. I have traveled the world and stayed in every conceivable type of lodging, this is in my top 10 for all of the above when traveling with my family. Now that I have family in Tucson, I will always be staying here when I come back. The nighttime lighting is beautiful when walking around the grounds. Our room in the newer part of the hotel was very nice but we chose to move to the older part of the hotel for its historic charm and was pleased with the room, its cosy feel, fireplace and lovely view of the mountains. Give this hotel a try if you want a change from the typical, boring, standard place to stay. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
