Charming old Spanish style hotel on lovely grounds.

We spent 3 nights here the first week of September and just loved it. The room was cute and clean although the the balcony (so called) was so tiny we could barely both fit on it . The restaurant was out -of-this world. We had the "fiesta ' rate which included a fabulous breakfast served by charming young servers. The bar could have been fun but covid ruined that with distancing. A trip to Tubac ,mostly closed..but not all..and a visit to the saguaro parks made for a great getaway from home. we will be back..thank you ! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

My husband and I stayed one night at Lodge on the Desert and enjoyed our stay even though it was short. Our room had a spa tub that was nice for a soak after our dinner at the restaurant, Cielos-which was excellent, and a walk around the grounds. The stay included breakfast at Cielos. The options were avocado toast or eggs, sausage, and creme brûlée French toast. We chose the later and again, it was excellent. Great value for the room rate. We will return for another stay! Paradise in the heart of Tucson

I never expected to find such a beautiful property in the heart of the city. Apparently, it was isolated when built and then the city grew up around it. No worries! Once you pass through the portals, it is as if you have left Tucson behind. It is a beautiful Arizona property. The staff is very accommodating: they printed a document for me using my jump drive; they brought us extra coffee and amenities upon request. Twice we got lost trying to find our room and a staffer would see us confused and lead us to our room. The room is spacious with two sinks in the bathroom. There is a fireplace but I cannot imagine ever using it. This was September. I am learning so much about Arizona during my first visit. The lovely lodges and resorts are truly special. Staff was exceptionally friendly and pleasant. EVERYTHING was clean as a whistle. Lovely southwest theme. Almost entire place was wheelchair accessible and fun to get around, rolling through cactus gardens and more. Truly an Oasis in the desert! Room was not only wheelchair accessible, but roomy. Double shower for able or disabled. Only issue was rug was not easy to roll on. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Have never experienced such poor customer service. The front desk clerk Norma was so dreadful that I actually cancelled our reservation. A call was placed about 12:00 to check on an early check-in. I was advised that it would be a half hour to have the room ready. I arrived at 2:40 and advised by Norma that the room would now be ready by 3:30!! Check-in time is 3:00! I advised her that this was not acceptable and she replied (very rudely) with "what did I want her to do." "Give out correct information, would be great!!" She actually flipped her hair in front of me and said she didn't care if there was a bad review! Needles to say , I canceled the reservation and spoke to the supervisor. The only redeeming quality was Christine, the supervisor. She was both gracious and professional. I will never stay at this hotel again. There's too many quality hotels to chose from in Tucson to settle for rude customer service! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
