Luxury in the heart of Seattle

Jun 24th, 2019

My wife and I stayed at this hotel to celebrate our three year wedding anniversary. The staff was extremely courteous and kind, and the room itself exceeded our expectations. We had stayed here once before the renovation, and I must say, that the hotel looks absolutely beautiful now. The bathrooms are particularly wonderful with the ceiling filling tubs and giant Windows overlooking the city. The location of this hotel can't be beat, only a couple blocks off the water and within walking distance of all the great downtown attractions. Just watch out for that hill on Madison, it's a steep one! I had requested roses and wine of some kind to be in the room as a surprise for my wife for our anniversary. The hotel went above and beyond leaving a beautiful bouquet of roses, some chocolates, a bottle of nice champagne, and a card from the staff. the concierge and manager had signed the card themselves and included several seed packets to grow wildflowers! It made my wife feel very special so I must say, thank you very much! then when we went to leave the staff was kind enough to wrap the flowers up for us and have them waiting so that we could take them home. Overall wonderful time, thank you so much for the great experience. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Overpriced, cozy room, few amenity, bad front desk

Jun 23rd, 2019

The room is cozy and I LOVED the large bathroom even though the bathtub was cracked and it took too much time to have hot water. I had to replace the water once filled because it was cold and the best I could have was warm water. Only few basic amenity, no complimentary water, tea nor coffee. Besides to the room interior, everything else is just or less than average, nothing special and I didn't feel luxury in my stay. The location and room view was good, but the front desk is dry, the porter don't care about you, no welcome drinks. There were some water at the lobby but always without any glasses. The reception service was far from five stars. I asked for a receipt which I recieved in blank, so I had to return to the hotel after check out because I thought it was a miss print. I was explained that it was in blank because I won't pay anything to the hotel as I already payed the fee to the reservation site and I had to print out the receipt from its website. First of all, who needs a receipt in blank? Second, few weeks later I found I was changed a fee on my credit card that I had no idea what was for. I called the hotel for explanation and the reception guy transferred my call to an automatic reply that only says it is out of business hours. I had to call again and finally I got the explanation that it was a leasure fee, but they were not able to explain what that fee is for, just "you have to pay". I don't care to pay if I have explanation of what I am paying for at the payment timing and if I have a recipt for what I paid. They said it is my fault because it is written in their website. It doesn't make sence because it means that if they just put in their website they can charge you everything without your consent, without explanations and without receipt. Will I stay there again? Never. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Beautiful Room and nice People

Jun 23rd, 2019

Stayed one night here and did not want to leave. Beautifully done room with more than anyone would ever need. The staff was friendly, courteous, and prompt. If there was a negative it would be sleeping late may not be an option, there is much construction in adjacent buildings. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Didn’t dazzle us...

Jun 6th, 2019

Not sure how other Seattle hotels would compare as this was our first visit, but we weren’t impressed. Too pricey to not be luxurious. Bathroom was very large and gorgeous, but not super functional. Tile was slick! Would’ve preferred they used that sqft for the bed area. Arrived to jackhammering from next door and went to bed to music bumping until 2am. Couldn’t tell if there was a wedding or maybe a bar nearby? Tried their restaurant for dinner. So so. Only 3 devices on WiFi for free, then its $15/day. Crazy. Seems cheap to me for a $600 night. Biggest thing that stood out was the front door guy watched me unload 8 bags and 2 kids out of our taxi and stood there! Didn’t even offer to help. Not a 5 star place. Won’t return.
