Great location, friendly staff but disappointing overall experience

Nov 18th, 2019

We had a booking at Lucky Cat by Gordon Ramsay and decided to turn it into a weekend away in London, so Grosvenor Square was an obvious choice as the restaurant shares the building with this hotel. Shame, as we ended up disappointed. Firstly, the positives - the staff was friendly and helpful, I wouldn't fault them; the location is very convenient as it's close to Hyde Park, Oxford Street, etc.; it's clean. But this is the least you can expect from a 5* hotel... Now, the negatives that spoilt the experience - the room we were offered on the 6th floor was very noisy, and I don't mean the air conditioning or the sounds coming from the outside as it's a quiet area. We're not sure what it was but sounded like a jet engine. We complained and after some time we were offered an alternative room, which the hotel staff deemed as an 'upgrade'. It was larger but only because it had features of an accessible room, so it didn't really feel like an upgrade. I woke up at 2am because the next-door guest had their TV on. The walls must be pretty thin because the sounds of the TV kept me awake till I crawled out of bed to find my earphones. These might not be dealbreakers for some, but if you are somewhere only for a one night stay, and it's meant to be a relaxing escape from the usual manic life that revolves around work and kids, you should probably look further. Another pleasant stay!

Nov 18th, 2019

I have stayed here numerous times and it’s a great location to explore the city. This stay I was given one of the recently renovated rooms which are fresh, practical and comfy. Get access to the executive lounge if you can, as it’s a nice place to chill out in between shopping or business meetings. Room service is exceptional as prepared by the Gordon Ramsey Maze restaurant in the property. Make use of the Grosvenor Square next door and enjoy a coffee at the little caravan there! Amazing M Club Lounge Staff

Nov 17th, 2019

The London Marriott Grosvenor Hotel is simply amazing. The staff in the lounge is super friendly and the lounge manager goes over and beyond to make sure that each and every guest is taken care of and feels at home. I will stay again due the amazing customer service of Mr. Patel. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Extraordinary staff service

Nov 11th, 2019

I have stayed for three nights in this property with my partner and I must say the entire hotel staff made our stay a trip to remember. Sandor, Giulio, Helen and Louis have done an exceptional job to accommodate our needs and make us feel welcomed. We had a seamless arrival experience thanks to Giulio who personally followed up on our enquiries and very professionally took care of them. The team at the Luggage room was very friendly and attentive as well. The room was beautifully designed and was very comfortable. We are very pleased for choosing this property for our stay and would highly recommend it to anyone else. Thanks for all the team for making our stay amazing we will be definitely back! Staff and Location Made the Difference

Nov 10th, 2019

Stayed 6 nights. The front desk staff were exceptional, probably the best that I have encountered after many years of business and leisure travel. Without going into details, a purely pleasure trip turned into a nightmare. The hotel's convenient location, the warm greetings morning and night, and the clean/quiet room made a huge difference in a very difficult situation. I really liked the trivia cards that the cleaning staff put on the pillows in addition to the chocolate or jelly bellies. Nice touch. Sparkling wine was provided at check-in. I ate at the Gordon Ramsey restaurant a couple of times (hamburger was very good and cakes really delicious); room service was average with service fast but food average); and walked across the street to the corner pub to drink Guinness and it tasted soooo gooood. I will come again when visiting London. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
