Uninformed management

Feb 18th, 2021

I was checked in the manager. He was extremely uninformed by the hotels credit credit authorization policy that I had called many times and confirmed. His name is Ryan I was told he is the AGM. He appeared frustrated with me when I was checking in because the original credit card we used was declining and he was unable to find the credit card information my husband sent previously. The hotel staff are very nice. They do not do any room service currently. You are responsible for your trash removal and room cleaning. We were there for 5 nights. I will not being good, despite the great hotel staff every time We called the concierge we heard different answers. For example, “ The skywalk to the convention center is used as an exit only.” Yet it’s not noted nor does anyone use it only as an exit. Go somewhere cheaper where the management is better informed and cares to learn! I felt rudely treated by Ryan and that carried throughout the trip! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

An Overall Good Hotel

Sep 11th, 2020

The Louisville Marriott Downtown is an overall good hotel, with a parking garage conveniently attached to the hotel building. The room was comfortable and was very clean and keeping with Covid CDC guidelines. The room also came with HBO built into the TV for easy viewing of entertainment. The only thing that could have made the stay better was if the entire surrounding area was not boarded up due to protests, but that was not a reflection on the safety or care of the hotel. The hotel even required using your room key to get into the lobby for added security. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Hotel website is TOTALLY misleading about services offered

Sep 3rd, 2020

No food, no health club, not even a bottle of water or a cup of coffee! But the hotel website says EVERYTHING is open and makes no mention of COVID-related cutbacks. (I just checked again.) Also they refused to give any Titanium Elite points at all. They said Marriott is no longer doing that, but I called the Marriott Customer Service line and they told me that isn't true. And they are charging FULL PRICE. Thanks for nothing. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Good Property

Feb 28th, 2020

This hotel is a good one. We are here for a convention (still at hotel as I write this :) ). The room is big enough. Bed is comfortable. TV is large. Bathroom is nice - rain showerhead, with an attached shower wand as well. The elevators at the property are super fast - somehow you never have to wait more than 30 seconds for an elevator to appear, even though the hotel is crowded. The swimming pool is a decent size and the water is not frigid. One odd thing about it - it is biggish (bigger than some hotel pools), but there is a large sign saying a limit of 5 people can swim at a time... And that failure to follow that rule (and others, like no swimming alone) could get you a $100 fine... Bizarre. The pool is plenty big for a dozen swimmers, and one FAMILY could be over 5 people. Just seemed strange. There is no hot tub (drat), but there is a nice workout room and a yoga room, both open 24 hours a day. The hotel is conveniently connected to the convention center by a "pedway" (aka - walkway or bridge). Another strange thing - there is a really pretty glassed in space on the 2nd floor in the communal area of the hotel. There are tables, comfy seating. It would be a super place to meet or work - BUT THERE ARE NO OUTLETS in it. Seems like a big miss in this day and age of everyone having electronics that need charging up. Also, no concierge on site that we ever found. So if you are in the lobby and have a question, you have to wait until the line at the front desk goes down to be able to ask it. The addition of a concierge would be nice. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Excellent service

Feb 26th, 2020

I stayed at the Marriott downtown for a work function and was impressed with the level of service overall. Particularly the Valet service and Sayed. He was very conscientious, polite and extremely helpful. While everything was fantastic at the hotel, that extra bit of service from Sayed in valet just elevated the stay. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
