Best best best

This was my best birthday ever The staff are friendly and follow covid protocols to the extreme. This made me feel comfortable Not to mention the spa it was awesome , i had been thinking about waiting till 2021 but glad i changed my time and did the vacation now . The 4 of us had a good time the overall service was good , we had gotten recommendations to use the private airport transfers with Top choice jamaica tours and they are so legit and pleasant we are happy to not have used the shuttle . Private was thenway to go and it was affordable so check them out. The weather was sunny the pool was great . What can i say just the best . See you again soon. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Great Customer Service from the Spa

Nov 5th, 2020

Nadira Lewis at the Spa was very helpful to help me book a spa treatment for a friend for her birthday. Her patience, knowledge, enthusiasm and professionalism made the process very easy and stress free. It is this kind of service we need during these stressful times. Kudos to her! Oh, and my friend gave her spa treatment a 5 stars and will definitely go back again! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Worst vacation would have paid $3800 not to have gone there.

Horrible food, rude lazy staff, flooded by rain and place stinks of sewage. Worst 7 days of my life. Elevators don't work and gourmet restaurants are a joke same food as the buffet dressed up but just as awful. Ignored me at check in, crude jokes about my appearance size and rude racist behavior by 99% of staff. Only three employees made any effort at service despite US$200 in tips. They can't even make a bed! The bed sheets are a foot too short! Just flipped them over never changed for clean sheets! My feet were touching bare mattress every night. Complained to manager no follow up. Public relations lied to me and made excuses. Phone in room broken, crank calls at night. Constant knocking on door to enter and "fix leaks". Called a "clot" by staff who just sit around and watch the guests slipping on wet tiles. Any place would be better than this. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Awesome Family Stay-Cation

Sep 28th, 2020

I was looking to book another hotel for my family when a friend mentioned she has just come back from Bahia Principe. She referred me Carol Austin who helped her with her booking and saw that her family had a great time. From the moment we entered the property every person we encountered was pleasant and accommodating. Having heard less than favorable things about the hotel since it housed returning residents during the first few months of the pandemic, I was still apprehensive. This was soon laid to rest. Most persons were compliant with the protocols, sanitization stations were strategically placed and the restaurants had ample spacings between tables and markers on the floor to ensure we could move about with limited to no contact with others. Food was good. Rooms....meh. The hotel is "aging" so some things don't sparkle like new. Though clean in most areas, I saw areas that could be better. Our housekeeper and maintenance (who we had to call once) were pleasant and always willing to help make our stay a pleasure. I mentioned Carol before, I cannot say enough about her helpful and pleasant nature. She went the extra mile to make sure our needs (spoken and unspoken) were met or exceeded. She intuitively made dinner reservations for us and took care of late checkout so our boys could enjoy every last bit of the waterpark before departure. Thanks to the shuttle drivers, servers, security guards and all who helped to debunk those rumors. My family had a great time, Thank You! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

UK couple in 40's

Jul 2nd, 2020

Flew from Manchester. Approx 90 min coach transfer to resort. The location and grounds are the main positives. The Jamaican staff are a little different to Mexican or other carribean resort staff. On the whole they are polite but speak when spoken to rather than saying 'Hi" or asking how things are going. This wasn't a negative for us but I could tell some people took it as disinterest or unprofessionalism which it isn't. A handful of staff (two of the receptionists and a couple of bar staff) were clearly unhappy with dealing with the public & their attitude reflected this. However the majority were ok, the cleaners in particular were more friendly. I've read that guests often smell a strong odour of cannabis when around the resort or at the beach. I can confirm this is the case, as well as it being offered for sale. Didn't bother us but may bother families with children or teenagers. Food was good, especially the Knife and Dob Pablo restaurants. Staff at the Knife were attentive and lovely on both the two occasions we ate there. Quality. Buffet food was good but as expected a bit more repetitive and brighter/louder than the restaurants. Entertainers were good fun and everybody including staff loved to dance. That was a good vibe. That, along with decent food at the restaurants and the lovely beach (to the left of the resort) mnoade this a good holiday. Tip for potential travellers: It would be to eat breakfast at the Garden Grill (opens 8am) is much, much better than breakfast at the buffet, (not as busy, better room and views of beach.) Book The Knife and other a la carte restaursnts via the app asap. Take US dollars in 1 dollar denominations, don't bother with jamaican money. Would I return? Probably not, its a big world out there and Jamaica has lots of other different locations to try. You can't really wander out of the resort to feel the real Jamaica and some of the staff don't seem bothered whether guests are happy. But the beach, food and resort are well worth a visit if the price is right. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
