5-Star Experience!!!

Feb 19th, 2020

This review is to shine the light on the truly wonderful staff at The Moxy NOLA! Prior to our travel, I called the hotel to inquire about having a “Happy Birthday balloon” in our room to surprise my wife when she walked in. Ms. Rayford called me back and I asked if there was a way to have a “Happy Birthday balloon” in our room upon arrival. Ms Rayford responded, “Absolutely! No problem.” We arrived at our hotel and Check-in with Mr. Tyler Jameson was smooth. He treated us like family! Entered our room to what looked like a scene out of a romantic Disney fairytale. • The floor was covered in rose petals with a trail leading to the bed • On top of the bed was more rose petals that spelled out my wife’s age with a heart • There was a bottle of champagne chilling on ice • There was a personalized birthday card • There was a vase filled with red and pink roses • There was a welcome birthday message on the chalkboard Our mouths hit the floor with utter amazement! We have NEVER been given royal 5-star treatment of this caliber in any of our previous stays. We found that it was Ms. Brittanie Caine responsible for the surprise! My wife and I hugged and thanked her profusely for taking the time to surprise her! Major Shoutout to Ms. Caine, Mr. Jameson, Ms. Kenneka, Ms. Rico & Ms. Rayford! Forgot to mention, Ms. Caine did have the “Happy Birthday balloons” after all…they were tied to the bed post with 3 additional heart balloons! It just doesn’t get any better than this! Thank you Moxy! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Forget valet parking-First impresión is horrible.

Feb 16th, 2020

While having read all descriptions we were prepared for an alternate hotel experience. However when info states valet parking... and the only valet experience one has had with 100+ other hotels invokes someone out front to assist, the experience in heavy traffic was frustrating and insulting. When checking inside about valet told multiple wrong things- none of which were fully accurate. You must check in before valet is available. In reality nice concept, you bring your car key I when you check in and they take care of your car. Only NO ONE explained it that way until 25 frustrating minutes of misinformation and parking problems to get into the hotel. The rest of the stay was adequate, however the first impression was infuriating and ridiculous. It takes more than their standards free cocktail at checkin to recover from that parking experience. A brief and accurate description of the novel process by the first person we encountered would have totally changed the experience. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Birthday treat weekend

Feb 16th, 2020

Quirky hotel, 2 blocks back from Canal St. No microwaves in the rooms but are available at reception. Free drip coffee available from early morning for coffee drinkers. Friendly staff. Close to all vibes, restaurants & bars, as well as Bourbon St. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Nice Surprise in New Orleans

Feb 14th, 2020

Arrived via Uber from the cruise port - very easy to locate. In the Central Business District (CBD) but an easy 10 minute walk to the French Quarter. Arrived very early for check in, so room not ready. No worries, the staff will tag and store big luggage in a locked back room and they provide complimentary key code lockers to the side of the public area that will fit smaller carryons and backpacks. It works the same way for later afternoon departures. They are very accommodating with luggage both before and after your stay, leaving you free to go out into the city. We were very impressed with the room. The “hip” furnishings and peg hangers on the wall are a welcome change from traditional hotel rooms. It was quiet on our floor, even for a Friday night. Did not hear the other guests on the 10th floor where we stayed. All staff were friendly and helpful - I believe in courtesy and meeting others halfway. Brittany, Kitty, and Daja come to mind. The morning desk staff gave us a great local breakfast place “Two Chicks” which was just around the corner. We would definitely stay here again when in New Orleans. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Quirky but clean, fun, and a good location

Feb 5th, 2020

It is designed like an industrial bldg. The hall rugs look like spilled paint but that is an in-woven look. The room was big but again quirky with that industrial look, excellent bathroom and shower. Front Desk is also a bar. Location is great, a few blocks from French Quarter. Public parking all around. I liked it and will stay there when I return. Oh, there is a 24 hour diner across the street that has low prices (for NOLA). TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
