Great Room and Staff
Aug 21st, 2020
Stated in Moxy for 3 nights, it is located between the airport and the city centre location it is not ideal if you are traveling for tourism, it is in the middle of nowhere and nothing to do nearby, but if you are in Oslo for business it is a good option, the room are new huge and super clean, staff as well and specially Marco were very helpful TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Does not seem geared to tourists/families/"older" travelers--avoid if sightseeing in Oslo.

Everything is shiny new modern updated--but otherwise one of the worst places we've stayed in. Far from both the airport and the city-you need a car to stay here. There is a bus stop in front of the hotel, but so far away you almost need to hitch a ride to get to it. The parking for the hotel is also not convenient with a long walk and confusing drive around to the front door for loading/unloading. The "reception" desk was actually a bar staffed with young people who were nice but not very knowledgeable about anything. After traveling all day we were thirsty and asked about getting a glass of water to drink (remember, the front check-in desk is an actual bar)--the staff instead sold us an exorbitantly priced bottle of water while neglecting to tell us that about 20 steps away around the corner of the wall was an ice machine with free water and glasses to use for it. Food choices at the hotel were skimpy and expensive, no other place to eat outside the hotel--if you have a car there are some places a few minutes drive away. The breakfast service was OK but very busy and some of the food was poorly prepared. There was construction happening at the hotel, which caused trip hazards in the hallways from stuff sticking up from the unfinished floor. Now for the most important part--the room itself--it was small, cramped, and very hot. The room seemed to be getting hotter and we discovered that hot air was blowing in from the vent--but by the time we figured this out we were already in our pajamas. There was no phone in the room to communicate with staff, which we did not discover until we needed to call them about the heat We were not aware of any app or number to call using our cellphone. When we finally did talk to the staff they told us there is no air conditioning in the rooms (only the lobby and halls have it). They neglected to tell us the window can be opened, we figured this out on our own--but there is no screen so bugs can get in. The room has no closet, just a few small hooks on the wall that are too close together to hang much on them. There was one very small trash can. Surfaces covered in dust Bathroom cramped with a small too high towel bar. Overall, this place seemed to be strictly targeted at young people and business travelers. There does not seem to be a reception desk, just a bar staffed with bartenders. Lack of room phones means no direct or easy communication with the staff, so you have to trek back down to the busy lobby to solve problems--even if there was a number to cal, which they did not give us, we don't all keep our cellphones on 24/7, it is not convenient to dig it out and power up just to get a roll of toilet tissue. Heady days before the Coronavirus!

I had returned here before the contagion last autumn and had another great stay. Being au fait with the Moxy concept this time, it was all very comfortable and smooth. The concept really works and the young staff go out of their way to be kind. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
A bit more re mote but still a Moxy!

The hotel is a little farther out but the same setup. I love these Moxy places, young people, fresh and a really nice concept. This on e is combined with a conference center of some kind and really big. There is a huge parking place in front of the hotel, just a couple of minutes walk. Here is also where the bus stops. As soon as you enter the hotel sign in your vehicle' license plate and you're good to go. The setup is similar to all others so not much different to report. Coming back soon! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

I had a late arrival on a tuesday and with a reception desk in a nightclub it was hard to communicate with the staff. When finally checked in I was downgraded from my prepaid room without any further explanation or excuse. I tried to buy something to drink from the reception/lobby but was denied and told i had to order from the noicy bar/nightclub. I was queing up for approximately 15 minuts but it was crowdy and a lot of the guests had coupons the used for free drinks so it was quit a rush. After 15 minuts i gave up to buy something and had springwater in my downgraded room instead since I was to start work early next morning. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
