Recently renovated, MacArthur Place has all the new amenities one could ask for and has kept their tradition of great customer service! From the moment you drive up, you are greeted by the complimentary valet staff and the front desk reception area feels like a warm modern living room. On our visit, we enjoyed a nice lunch in the on-site restaurant Layla, formerly a steakhouse(directions to property still has the old title) and the open concept dining was cozy and lots of light from the windows. The bar adjacent to the restaurant is comfortable with relaxing setting to meet and hang out. The Porch provides a great place for grab and go coffee and drinks. Walking the grounds, every path and corner is landscaped and manicured. Even during the fall, it was very pretty and peaceful to enjoy the grounds. Spa, pool, exercise do it all. Rooms are amazing! Every detail has been considered. Complimentary healthy snacks with Steeped Coffee from Santa Cruz will get you spoiled. A stocked beverage fridge is also supplied with very reasonable prices. Our Manor room was truly a decorators goals design. The bed, furniture and private patio was ultimate luxury. Complimentary wine tasting, fire pits, dining at Layla made for a wonderful stay! The property is located in town but it was extremely quiet and bikes are available to cruise to Sonoma Plaza just minutes away. Across the street is Jacks Filling Station a cute vintage gas station selling gas, wine, beer, picnic supplies and records. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

We visited MacArthur Place in late December as part of a week long romantic getaway to SF/Sonoma/Napa. Every single detail of our stay here was on point. Someone put a lot of thought into the amenities and style of this hotel and it really shows. We so enjoyed the coffee bar, the turn down service with cookies, complimentary in room snacks, delicious in room coffee, wood burning stove, super comfy robe and slippers, even a dyson hairdryer (which I now must have). The maid service paid extra special attention to the small but important things. Our room was huge with a super comfortable bed, massive tub, even heated floors. The valet was awesome too, offering water each time. We loved the cottage style hotel. We were so sad to leave and will definitely be back, hopefully soon! Thanks for an amazing stay! We stayed at MacArthur Place on new years eve. The service at this hotel truly made the experience. We arrived at the hotel and was greeted with the most welcoming and accommodating valet Sean; he was prompt with his service, gave us a very comprehensive welcome tour of the property and even set up water bottles in our car's cupholders when we picked the car up. We told him we had guests coming that night and he was more than welcoming to them when they arrived. Our whole party really appreciated his hospitality and left all of us with a great first impression of the hotel. When we first arrived in our room, we realized that there was an unfortunate mistake where the hotel's online booking system put us in the wrong room type. Because it was new years eve and the hotel was fully booked, it wasn't possible for us to move to the room we had originally booked. However, the front desk manager Michael did everything he could to correct this mistake immediately despite limited options with a fully booked hotel. Later in the night, he even helped us to find a wonderful restaurant which could seat a party of 4 despite it being NYE. Thanks again for all your help Sean and Michael! These two deserve promotions! Breakfast at the hotel restaurant Layla was also noteworthy. They had the most fresh and delicious food we've had in a while. Strongly recommended. We've stayed at many of the world's best hotels and resorts, but the service at MacArthur Place truly stood out as one of the most warm and welcoming. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Just checked out of the MacArthur and loved our experience - will definitely be back! The service at the MacArthur is standout. Special shoutout to Dan at the desk and Ethan from valet for being especially awesome. Loved that while this hotel has recently been redone with top of the line everything (super comfortable beds, outdoor showers, lights that turn on/off w a tap, trendy shower stuff from Australia, etc) it still has this lovely cozy feel because of the cottage layout. Can’t wait to return! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Feels like home!

Just came back from a one night stay with the family. We booked the Estate Spa Cottage and a standard room in the Burris House. Pros: Everyone at the hotel was extremely helpful, attentive and accommodating - 5 star service! The rooms were beautifully appointed (the entire place kind of felt like you were in a Restoration Hardware decorated home). The Estate Spa Cottage was wonderful. We didn't get to use the outdoor shower and patio because it was a little cold but definitely a fun place to relax when the weather is warmer! The Burris House room was also quite large and beautiful. The entire hotel was a series of little houses/cottages that gave it a very special homey feel - like you were walking in a little village. Nice touch of offering delicious complimentary snacks and water in the rooms. Although we didn't use the pool, it is heated during the winter months. My daughter dipped her legs in the water and we saw someone swimming laps in the morning. We had post dinner drinks at the hotel bar (great + friendly bartenders!) and brunch at Layla restaurant which was good. Cons: The only con was that it took quite a long time for our food to come out at Layla but the servers came by frequently to check in on us which was great. Overall great stay and we will definitely be back! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
