This is a property in an amazing location. We absolutely loved the gondola system that could take you into town. The hiking and access to the mountain are also great. Nice views out of the rooms and very good service make this the place to stay in the mountain village. I will say the rooms feel a little dated as does the decor of the hotel. It is well maintained and I would recommend this hotel but next time we might try in town accommodations. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Its Got it All Going On!!

Telluride is probably our favorite getaway in Colorado, especially in the warm months...we've stayed mostly in Mountain Village because during festival weekends (Bluegrass especially) it's nice to be able to escape the hubub of town, hop on the gondola, and enjoy the mid mountain tranquility...we chose the Madeline for mainly 2 reasons....they offered a 4th night free promo and they are extremely dog friendly.....we booked a 2 bedroom corner suite and it was perfect...spacious bedrooms with all the amenities your expect from this brand, living room and kitchen were nothing special but a huge wraparound balcony overlookng the square below....because of Covid restrictions they were at maybe 50% capacity which was also a plus for us.....speaking of which, they were firm about masks etc indoors but not overly so ....we felt safe.....a little clumsy checking in with the lobby under renovation, but no big deal....used the concierge service to book restaurants. golf and fly fishing....furnishings in the living room kind of in need of refreshing, but I know that's a fairly common situation when you bring dogs....again no big deal as we were mostly outside, on our deck, or in the bedrooms...plenty of food options here but we headed into town for the reliable breakfast standard of Baked in Telluride and to try the National....really exceptional!!...only a couple of misses....the TV/AV system was more than we could manage....asked for some help but it didn't happen...also the HVAC set-up was a little tricky....very warm in the day and chilly at night that time of year means it's good to be able to control the temp....wish we would have known about the pool with a view as from our deck we saw a very small pool tucked in a space with mostly shade with little seating and hence didn't use it...that's on us.....all and all exceeded our expectations....thanks and we'll be back....btw kudos to Doug the valet guy TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Having last visited Telluride in the 80’s, it was a surprise (but a nice surprise) to see it has developed in a reasonable manner and not every inch of ground has been taken over by condos and retail businesses. The Madeline is located in the development about halfway up the mountain in Mountain Village among other well spaced complexes, hiking trails and directly on the promenade. A few feet away is the gondola that carries you to Telluride village on the other side of the mountain. We were greeted by Jonathan, a happy escapee from Colorado Springs, who helped get us settled in. After visiting the town of Telluride, albeit on a gondola where only family members could sit together in each one, making the trip longer than usual, we returned to our beautiful and spacious room 429 to enjoy some wine before heading to the Black Iron Kitchen, attached to the hotel, for an outdoor meal. We received a personal apology from one of the managers when they ran out of the tomatoe bisque soup we ordered but the substituted corn chowder was absolutely rich, creamy and delicious. The rest of the meal was just as good. Everyone was nice, accommodating and pleasant to deal with. Would definitely stay there again. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Little piece of heaven!

Everything about this hotel is a delight. We will certainly return. We visited in January to go skiing and brought our dog. The entire staff was welcoming, nice, knowledgeable, but not intrusive in any way in true Colorado fashion. The rooms are beautifully appointed. The outdoor pool and spa provide jaw-droppingly beautiful views of the San Juan Mountains and ski slopes. The free breakfast coffee and snacks in the lobby was high quality and perfect for grabbing a cup and taking an early morning walk through Mountain Village (with almond milk option). We had dinner at the National and Allred’s which were both pretty amazing. The Madeline - and Telluride - is a gem! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

We stayed at the Madeline this past weekend to see the fall colors and do some mountain biking. Auberge is my favorite hotel collection and Madeline far exceeded my expectations. The service was too notch and room was beautiful and spacious with the most comfortable beds. Definitely check out the pool/hot tubs which has a panoramic view of the mountains. Bryon the hotel manager and Lena the concierge went out of their way to make our trip special. The Location in mountain village was perfect. Also highly recommend the restaurant and trying the tacos and skirt steak. Overall 10 out of 10 and will be coming back in the winter. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
