Convenient location

Feb 1st, 2020

We stayed here as part of our Sicily tour. Rooms were comfortable, clean and quiet. We had dinner our first night and it was good with plenty to eat and drink. Breakfast was also tasty with many options. All staff were friendly and helpful especially the restaurant staff. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Our favourite hotel of the four we stayed in on Sicily

Oct 25th, 2019

Style and location of this hotel was ideal for us. The rooms were clean and tidy including the bathroom. Our shower had a weak flow but other guests stated they had no problem. Reception and waiting staff were friendly and helpful. We liked the food in the restaurant at both breakfast and dinner. The courtyard fountain is tired as are some of the fixtures and fittings. Could do with a freshen up

Oct 7th, 2019

We only spent the one night at Mahara as part of a driving tour around Sicily. From the moment we arrived we saw that the hotel needed maintenance and a freshen up. Our room was fine, a decent size, very clean and the hot water supply in the shower was great. Once again, though, the furniture on the balcony was not in good order. We have no idea where the pool was! We had dinner in the restaurant and the food was good and reasonably priced. There was also a good spread for breakfast. Staff in the dining room were all lovely and attentive. We were a little surprised when the fellow on reception insisted on keeping our passports until the following morning. The hotel was very quiet as there were only a couple of people staying plus a tour group of about 25. It may be different during peak time. It was an easy walk into the city and nice to stroll along the promenade. This is not the usual sort of place we would stay in but just for the one night it was fine. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

lessons how to milk your customers

Aug 8th, 2019

We stayed there as part of a tour of Sicily and we did not have a good experience. it was hot when we arrived and we asked for the use of the pool,we were told the it would be 5E per person per hour.In 50 years of travel it is the 1st time that we were told that there is a charge for using a pool for someone staying at the hotel. At dinner time we ordered a glass of wine each and were served a shot glass of wine for 5E each the smallest quantity of wine that I was ever served This shows that management care only about milking their guests not how to make them feel welcome. Finally, the bed mattress could have been made of marble we would not been able to know the difference. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
