Nice views, dirty room, close to beach, no smoke detectors

The only nice parts were the location to the beach and the view from the patio. The room was pretty dirty. There were no smoke detectors and a portable fan because the overhead fan was broke. Room looked like it was under construction. A good place if you aren’t looking for anything too special. You get what you pay for. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Would not recommend this place

My husband and I stayed overnight on Sat. 12/7/19 in room 11 and we were not happy to find the room in the state it was in. Just a few things we noticed, it looked like the room had not been cleaned, there were cobwebs around the television and in the bathroom, the floors needed sweeping, the bedding was dirty, there was mold around the shower and dust around the window, and lastly the wall heater in the room was so loud we didn’t sleep with it on and were freezing. We had the worst experience that as soon as we could we left and that was around 5 am. I could add more but I think the little things that I pointed out are enough to maybe look else where. good monetary value but there are needs

I checked in late due to filming in another Malibu location. It was a very windy cold night. I opened the room and with hard wood floors it was freezing in the room. There is an old wall heater. (like out of the 40's) and it took forever to even get somewhat comfortable. There is not a hair dryer in the rooms (even Motel 6 provides them) nor are there facial tissues. I went to call the front desk but noticed there were no phones in the room as well. I will not return to this location even though we have until the end of the month to complete our production. Should be scraped and rebuilt

We wanted a few days from San Fran to meet friends from San Diego, so Malibu was chosen in between. We were seduced by the Country Inn website and reserved a room there. Got there, were charged $340/night to find a ramshackle, tattered pit. They could not find glasses for the rooms, hot tub didn’t work with very illegal, non-code electrical wiring, 1950s updates of woodwork and bathrooms, chipped paint, non-working fireplace, intermittent Wi-Fi, as a start. I’d be OK at $110/night but $340?! Actually I strongly recommend not staying there. Very good physical location but should be torn down and re-built! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

We returned to this property in June of 2019 after having a bad experience in November of 2018. Everything was fine until the Jacuzzi on the balcony gave out. We went specifically because the Jacuzzi was on the balcony. They paid an electrician nearly $900 to drive across town (because there are no businesses near this hotel) and supposedly fix the Jacuzzi while I took my wife to dinner. When we arrived the ground cable on the power cord of the Jacuzzi was broken off and left on the patio floor along with stripped electrical wires and electrical tape. The first thing We noticed was an red & black extension cord plugged into the Jacuzzi power cord. I inquired to some knucklehead whom I originally thought was a stand up guy since We explained We were celebrating our anniversary and he We assured me that the Jacuzzi had been repaired. We put on our bathing suits and stepped out in the cool balcony and noticed the Jacuzzi had been running already so we assumed the water would be nice and warm so we could enjoy a drink and the hot Jacuzzi. IT STILL DIDNT WORK, THE HETS WERE ON BUT THE WATER WAS COLD. The next day we checked out and expressed our unhappiness and expected more out if the property. Hamlin gave us a small refund. We booked AGAIN in the hopes that WE coild enjoy the hotel and Jacuzzi to redo our stay from November of 2018. I personally called and asked for the same room and the next day we arrived only to discover after 8 months the Jacuzzi STILL had not been fixed. We called but Hamin had already keft a female came to the room to check the Jacuzzi and was surprised to feel the cold water and LEARN that we had been in the same room in November of 2018. She shared with us that Hamin was called and chose to ignore handling and fixing the problem. The next day we checked out and he was 100 % UNPROFESSIONAL & UNSYMPATHETIC ! We took pictures of the broken wooden slats that cover the windows. The fireplace didn't work, the restaurant has been closed FOREVER but they advertise it and state that it's under renovation (RIGHT) We also have pictures of the dirty socks we need up with because the maids don't clean the wood floors and the box spring material is hanging like an old shredded curtain. This place is a JOKE, more like a MOTEL, they also put the dirty sheets in large rolling carts right outside our front door. Tried to load the pics but wouldn't allow me to. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
