Malibu Gem!

Aug 18th, 2019

This Instagram-worthy Malibu gem was originally built after World War II as the Malibu Riviera Motel and has hosted many an old school movie star. The property was revamped and now incorporates ultra modern local art, custom furniture, and artisan-made hammocks. The 13 guest rooms feature the most comfortable custom mattresses, Bluetooth speakers, Wi-Fi, and retro fans. (But no air-conditioning or TV.) Relax on your private patio, go for a swim in the ocean, doine at nearby Nobu, or explore Zuma Beach, Point Dume or Topanga. Awesome spot! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Charming property and staff - Excellent hotel

Aug 27th, 2018

Absolutely loved our experience at The Native. Sam, Lauren, and Alex were phenomenal and perfect for the vibe of the hotel. The robes are to die for. And I'm already dying to come back. The decor was minimal but very well curated. Overall A+ on this one, really enjoyed our stay. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Charming Hipster Groovy Motel in a bad location with no amenities

Aug 27th, 2018

This is a charming, hipster motel in a bad location (right off PCH) with no amenities like a gym, pool or room service. If it was $200 a night it would be my amazing tip for friends, but at $350 a night when I stayed I felt like I was overpaying by 2x. That being said, the staff was amazing and they put out a modest by nice coffee (2 types of hipster drip), yogurt and an array of expensive, top shelf berries. Most rooms don't have AC, you don't have beach access and you don't even have a closet. But you do have a clean room with a delightful staff and hipster touches. There aren't many options in Malibu, but if you were going with three couples you could put your $1,200 together and rent a beach front Airbnb/VRBO/etc. and get better value TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Arrogance , uncomfortable and all around no bueno

Aug 21st, 2018

This hotel is run by spoiled children that fancy themselves a hipster. It is noisy, uncomfortable and ownership clearly has no sense of customer care or brand loyalty . Whereas it seems one way online, the reality is a different story. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Good vibe, away from the chaos

Aug 7th, 2018

First off the kids weren’t overly keen about the lack of air conditioning, the trendy fans did work well as the evening cooled off though. The hotel space was relaxed and nicely done, close to PCH but quieter than expected. The best thing is it’s away from the chaos of weekend Malibu. Easy to get to the local grocery and eatery which was great, chill experience TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
