A great stay

Mar 29th, 2020

I love this hotel, staff were very friendly from the very start and could not help you enough. Rooms were comfortable, bathroom was good size. The only snag I would say about the room there were wardrobes to hang your clothes properly or draws for belongings. We ate in the restaurant several times. The food was delicious, specially the breakfast we kept choosing. The bar staff were great and really friendly. The roof top bar is great only can be used in good weather. We had the luck one of the days was very sunny. The other days were rainy so it was not opened. I would stay and recommend this hotel . You are so close to the center everything is walking distance. All I can say is thanks guys to all the staff you made our stay very comfortable. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Eclectic and Urban Hotel

Mar 21st, 2020

Mama Shelter has a pretty nice location. it is in Hollywood but not in a very touristy and crowded area. and the price is cheaper than similiar hotel in this area. it has a very young, urban, sleek and eclectic feeling on it. a lot of people come to their bar or their rooftop. its a pretty busy hotel Mama gave a refreshing fruit and cookie as complimentary during our check-in. its really good though Mama didnt refill any of our toiletries during our 3 nights stay. which is weird Room is enough in size, and we love the quirky Star Wars ornament and Apple TV. Receptionist didnt acknowledge our ALL Platinum benefit at all, no room upgrade i guess. a comeback? well probably TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Fun decor and great location to the strip!. Great room and shower! We had a view of the Hollywood sign. Coronavirus was going on when we were there and the staff did a great job of making of everyone comfortable TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Super cool hotel and excellent service at Mama Shelter in Hollywood

Feb 16th, 2020

The area is a bit rundown/up-and-coming so if you're sensitive to this, the property may not be for you. If, on the other hand, you don't mind a bit of grunge if it means being close to great restaurants, bars and the major Hollywood sites, then you could do much worse than staying at Mama Shelter. I recently stayed one night while on business in LA and, after hearing positive feedback from Mama Shelters elsewhere around the world, decided to give the LA property a try. Upon arrival, I was welcomed by the receptionist who, without me asking, offered to upgrade me to a suite, free of charge. I was pleasantly surprised since it was my first time ever in a Mama Shelter and could hardly contain my excitement to check out my room. Spoiler alert: it did not disappoint. It was HUGE, had a comfortable couch covered with rich-colored linens and pillows, an immaculately clean and plush king sized bed and a beautiful, open-style bathroom with rainshower and freestanding tub. The stuff of dreams. If only I had stayed more than one night... TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Top Shelf Rooftop!

Whether you’re new to LA or not, this IS the place to go! Magnificent views, of the city line and Hollywood sign. You can sit at tables, bar side or on cushioned sun bathing loungers. The cocktails deliver the LA vibe and the beers give it that signature experience of a unique scene. Bartenders are friendly and down to earth and encourage exploring this area. GO. Try it!
