Felt like I was sleeping in a sauna

Aug 4th, 2019

They advertise that there is air conditioning but our room had none. I believe some rooms do indeed have AC but I had zero control over the thermostat and only had a fan to blow the hot air around. The lowest the temperature in my room went down to was 24.5. It usually stayed at 25. It was very uncomfortable. Staff was notified but the temp never went down. Will not go back. Victorian charm, central location, incomparable management

Aug 4th, 2019

Located on an east-west bus line at the edge of the downtown’s upper margins, Amor Manoir Sherbrooke provides the awaiting guest an invitation into the home of Mr. Laurie, the proprietor. In Montreal, no better location can be found. Victorian architecture offers a variety of room styles and sizes, nestled around generous public spaces. The staff are engaging and knowledgeable, taking a genuine interest in the Manoir’s varied guests. The hotel boasts suitably eclectic room decor while exuding a gracious ambiance. Manor Sherbrooke feels like home in this architecturally challenging city. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

We spent five nights at the Manoir Sherbrooke. It was wonderful. Let’s start with the building. I have an aversion to steel and glass modern buildings. So I was looking for a charming Victorian style hotel that would embody the spirit of the area. I was very intrigued by the hotel pictures I saw online. When I got there I was not disappointed. I fell in love with the place. It is so beautiful ! The walls, the ceilings, the furniture etc I would have been happy sleeping on the floor in the hallway (just kidding!) but my room was lovely. Very clean and comfortable too. I had requested a room on the first floor an they graciously accommodated my request. The hotel is a little out of the way, but a $10 cab ride or $3.50 metro ride solved that. Free breakfast is served every morning at the grand salon. The salon is beautiful and comfortable. It has a homey atmosphere that invites interaction amongst the guests. I met some very nice people and had wonderful conversations. The staff couldn’t be nicer. They were very friendly both answering my questions online and in person. Everybody went above and beyond doing their jobs. They care, they really do! I interacted with most everybody from front desk to cleaning staff. Every each one was friendly, personable and generous with their time. Always willing to help with directions, recommendations etc. In alphabetical order, kudos to Carole, Frederic, Marisa, Natalie and Patricia. My thanks to all of you. When I checked out I felt I was leaving friends behind TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

The Perfect Hotel for Us!

Jul 28th, 2019

I booked this hotel based on the uniqueness of the building itself, (19th Century Victorian) location, and the high ratings. My daughter Sophie, and I, were not disappointed! Everything and everyone (Staff) were perfect! Super accommodating and also went out of their way to make sure we were satisfied with things to do, sights to see, and even well fed! After the fireworks we arrived a quarter past midnight, greeted by wonderful Wally at the front desk (which by the way the entrance doors lock after midnight, giving you a sense of ease) of whom made sure we went back out to grab some snacks as we were starving. It was just a 2 min walk to the gas station. Breakfast consisted of an assortment of freshly baked breads, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, dried fruits, granola, and pastries. Served in a beautiful dining room that whisks you back into the past of refined dining and comfort. Our room was on the top floor, in the back so it was very quiet and had a view of Mont Royal and the Cross which lights up at night. Beautiful! Our only complaint was we wished we booked more days. Lastly they hold your luggage if your room is not ready or also at check out. In our case, our bus back home left at 9pm, giving us a whole day to enjoy more sights and last minute shopping without lugging our luggage :D 5 stars for this beautiful hotel. We are already planning our fall trip back! Sarah & Sophie TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

A gem of a hotel.

We so loved our 3 night stay at this hotel. The room was spacious and clean and the breakfast was outstanding. Loved the fresh bakery in particular and the fact that you have access to coffee and tea throughout the day. We can't say anything bad about the staff, who treated us attentively but not intrusively. Highly recommended hotel to stay. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
