Stay somewhere else!

Jun 29th, 2020

We planned this trip long before COVID-19 and decided to take it despite the risks because we were reassured by the policies the hotel published, which couldn't be further from the truth. Upon checking in we were advised they had many complaints about the elevators and people not social distancing, and advised us there was nothing they could do about it. My family of 4 should have made the elevator at capacity, but when we went to the elevator to go to our room we found only a tiny sign by the button that said practice social distancing. When visiting other hotels in Biloxi they had strict limits on the amount of people allowed in the elevator and stickers on the floor where to stand, Margaritaville seemingly did not care about this. When I reached out to the hotel after the trip, the Hospitality & Reputations Manager informed me that "While I completely understand the frustration of the elevator situation, it is up to our guests to respect one another and social distance." While I do agree with this, had the proper signage been in place stating what the correct capacity of the elevator is, I would not have had to experience the hostility from others when denying them access to elevators as my family made the capacity of the elevator full. Also, when many guests are telling you its a problem, its not the responsibility of the guest to make it better. On to the next issue, the hallways were absolutely disgusting. The carpets were horribly stained and trash left out for the entire day. We were advised that housekeeping would not be cleaning rooms during our stay, only at checkout, which was fine with us; however, once housekeeping left for the morning, they never made an appearance again. People would set their trash out and it would never get collected. At one point there were whole chicken bones littering the floor outside of a room and the whole hallway smelled of dirty diapers. When housekeeping did clean the rooms they stripped all the linens from the rooms and threw them in the hallways in large piles for all the current guests to maneuver around. The room we stayed in didn't have working lights in the bathroom, only 1 out of the 3 lights worked, but at this point my complaints had fallen on deaf ears so why bother anymore. The general attitude of the employees was very poor and after having at least a month off you would think that the place would be sparkling clean and everyone would be more than thrilled to be back at work finally. Lost Key Bar

Payne was a great bartender. Very friendly and makes great drinks. He provided us with good insight into the area and gave us suggestions for places to eat. When you stay at the hotel make sure you stop in at the Lost Key, only bar you can sit at. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Awful First Impression

Jun 28th, 2020

Just arrived and the hotel and rooms are NASTy and the smell is awful. The floors haven’t been vacuumed in no telling how long. The HVAC hasn’t been cleaned in months. The halls are just abysmal, nasty, beautiful blue carpets are brown and months of debris on them. Never ever again. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Terrible is my best first word! Can’t imagine a worse hotel and paying for it. We used to love Margaritaville, now they are just bad. Puerto Rico Airport is terrible and now so is Biloxi. Book anything else. Water Park is a joke. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
