An average hotel. You get what you pay for. Food is average also. Breakfast was like a school canteen. Rooms are big. I have stayed at far better in Luxor but if you are on a budget, then it may suit. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

We'd read the reviews about how good this place is. I'll point out the great bits in my next review. In this review though I think the hotel need to take a look. Check in...the guy at the desk seemed more interested in dealing with everyone else even though he was checking us in. Not a great start. We'd paid for the superior room in a 5 star hotel so you'd expect the best. We got to the room and with having great big windows overlooking the Nile River you'd expext the curtains to open to clear all the windows. It was like they had never been opened before. A lot of the curtain hooks just fell off as I tried to open them which meant we couldn't close the curtains properly come night time. Lots of dust on some of the shelves. The 2 sided mirror in the bathroom was clean to look at the front but the magnified side was filthy. And no room service menu in the room. Then the room service dishes from all rooms in our block were left outside uncollected for almost 24 hours. Not a good look when going to and from our block. Certainly a few things need to be addressed for future residents at this hotel. We didn't let the above spoil our 2 night stay. My next review will tell you why. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

We have stayed at this hotel many times before but it is few years since our last visit. Unfortunately it has deteriorated drastically! I would suggest this is due to bad management but I think there hands are tied by the owners! The gardens are nowhere near as pristine as they used to be but half of the Gardner’s have been paid off. The swimming pools are not as clean as they should be and I never saw anyone check the water once. All pools were freezing and the relax pool in particular was never heated in the three weeks we were there. Not good enough! The restaurant and the staff within were first class the only downside being when it was full of Egyptians. The majority are rude and pile food on there plates as if there is a shortage then leave half of it or pile it into there bags to take away! There were a few conventions on when we were there and it would seem the hotel are encouraging this side of the business as obviously there are very few Europeans. I quite understand it’s a business at the end of the day but it is very sad to see what is happening to what was once a 5star establishment. The Asian restaurant is a must to visit as is the Italian but they need to be advertised within the hotel as most nights we were the only ones in! Gomas in the Ascot Bar continues to give excellent service and we spent a few nights in there. Will we go back again? Unfortunately I do not think so as I can see this place going further downhill. Such a shame as we have many happy memories of holidays spent over the years. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

One of the most terrible hotels in Luxor No go hotel

Dec 28th, 2019

One of the most horrible and unpleasant stays was in Jolie Ville. We talked to one of the very nice waiters there who actually was wondering "I don't know why there are not many clients", let me answer you, my friend: the place and the location is totally nice and relaxing this I promise BUT it's a place where every single waiter is looking at you and is treating you only for tips and if you don't wanna give because you might NOT HAVE CASH they can ask you "OH are you german?", and then I simply lose my appetite to treat you back. The second incident: we had dinner with my fiance and the waiter never return my change when I asked him "HEEELLO can I have my money back" he said I thought it was for us, and he did that because the night before we were there and again we left no tips because they demanded tips, plus he gave me back less change. Everyone is working there for themselves, they hazal you big time and don't expect you are going to a nice and relaxed environment, you should not trust a single waiter for being nice to you, there is a reason for that, everyone is working for themselves. However, the incident that made me feel totally insecure and lose my sleep the last night that we stayed there was when I went to their "SPA" when I finished my massage I was missing from my wallet 900 Egyptian pounds, and it's not about the money, I hope they need it more than me but it's the gesture and of course I wouldn't say anything to the reception because I didn't feel safe from my overall stay there and by anyone who tried to "provide me". So no trust. No fun. No clients for that reason will come back my dear friend. Later we moved to Sofitel, dear Lord, that was a treat!! the people are totally professionals, kind, sweet and they know how to respect each other and then this respect reflects to the clients, I PROMISE YOU. Anyway, if for any weird reason you chose to go there, be careful to keep your wallets and pockets close to you. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Wonderful relaxing hotel

Dec 20th, 2019

We stayed in the chalets near the infinity pool. A lovely place. Not a lot of entertainment at the hotel but a beautiful relaxing place. We went out on many excursions with a local guide, a great location with plenty to see a short taxi ride away. Staff were friendly in the restaurant. The reception staff were not as friendly, they often couldn’t speak English so we would have to wait, once for over 20 minutes, to speak to someone that could help . The cash machine Outside the hotel wouldn’t give money which was a problem. Everything else was great. Food was amazing. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
