Great Staff and Useful Hotel

While the hotel is in the middle of a renovation (construction during the day and sections of the hotel blocked off for the construction), I've always appreciated the attentiveness of the staff at this location. Always friendly, always professional. Looking forward to seeing the renovation when it's complete. Great concierge lounge and concierge lounge staff. Nice restaurants and amenities in area directly around the hotel. My go-to hotel in Madison. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Dump in Process of Renovation

I concur with a previous review which stated the hotel should have closed down during renovations. I feel like I’m back in the Navy with floor tile being jack hammered off the deck above me. I was told the construction noise stops at 6 pm. The wall paper is peeling off the wall of my room. The water reservoir in the old coffee dispenser is just gross. A once white bathtub is now yellow. Just nasty. The food in the concierge lounge is not good and all floor covering is ripped out from the elevator to the entrance of the lounge. Yes the staff is nice and I have no complaints for them. However, if you decide to stay here please remember you were forewarned! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Things keep declining at this hotel

Our group has had several annual conferences at this hotel and things keep declining. Front desk personnel were efficient but rather "stiff". The hotel is generally not very clean. Elevators were dirty. Upon entering my room the bed covers did not appear to be fresh or clean and the pillow cases appeared to be there from the previous guest. They were very "tired". The bathroom was dirty as well. I elected to decline maid service but they could have at least provided more shampoo and conditioner which was never delivered as promised. They also could have come in to empty the trash cans since I was there for three nights. I emptied them my self. Granted they are refurbishing the hotel on the 9th and 10th floors, but they should not give up taking care of guests. Meeting rooms were generally good, but AV people never returned to check on proper operation. Food Service was probably the best feature of the hotel and their staff was pleasant and efficient. I stayed at a Fairfield Hotel in Green Bay for the next two lights which was clearly superior to this hotel at half the price. This hotel should not be allowed to fly the Marriott flag. They are trying harder, attentive service!

I've stayed at the hotel a few times over the years, but haven't been too impressed. That seems to be changing. I was warmly greeted and promptly served as a Platinum guest on my last stay. I received an unsolicited upgrade to a suite for my one night stay. Best of all, since their executive lounge was closed, I was treated to breakfast in their restaurant. A great made to order omelet. I look forward to another stay soon! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

I want to take this hotel with me!

The people are so nice! The layout of the hotel - elevators, front desk, fitness room, coffee is extremely well done. And the breakfast buffet is great. The open center of the hotel and water fall make for a relaxing environment. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
