Great Location AMAZING Staff

Nov 16th, 2019

As an Ambassador Elite who’s travel to Portland on numerous occasions, I can’t believe I’ve never stayed at this property before. From the moment I walked up to the front desk and was greeted by very professional and courteous front desk agents, I knew I was going to enjoy my stay. The hotel is located right across the river so if you’re lucky enough to get a river view room (as I was), it’s just another plus for a property buzzing with thumbs up all around! On my first evening as I walked by the front lobby, I was greeted by Danielle who was offering up wine sampling and delish shortbread cookies shaped in Thanksgiving designs. Danielle’s high energy, positive vibe and customer centricity really defines why this properties staff stands out. No doubt she sets the bar (no pun intended... lol) in guest engagement and is so sincere I doing all she can yo exceed yours expectations of your stay. On a final note, I would be remiss to not give a shout out to Jose up in the M Club lounge (which BTW is super nice with great breakfasts and appys...). Jose was funny, engaging and just lit up the room with his huge smile and positive energy. He’s such a nice guy and really wants to know you’re enjoying your stay! Look forward to my return Paul TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Hotel was ok

Nov 14th, 2019

Just stayed at this property for 2 days. Felt the hotel is old and dated. Entrance and lobby felt corporate, nothing special about the property, however really liked the people at the front desk, very helpful with a tourist map of the city, and restaurants recommendations. We were on the 6th floor, semi corner room with a a view of the river and balcony. Room was very small and dark, turned on all the lights and it still felt dark. Bed was nice and comfortable. Pressure in the shower was so weak, it was was weak and wimpy. We didn’t like the fact that the door to the next door neighbor was literally touching ours, not even 2ft apart from each other, see attached photo. We had access to the lounge so went there for snacks, happy hour and breakfast. The breakfast was much better with a nice selection of pastries, fresh fruits, crispy bacon and scrambled eggs, plus you can order from the menu as well. The hotel was so, so, nothing exciting. Good thing we cashed in Marriott points, but the rack rate was $280, which isn’t worth it at all TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Our first time in Portland, what a beautiful city and lovely hotel. Service was wonderful from front desk to M club. We were blessed to have a 15th floor view of river. It was beauty, the trees were vibrate this time of year and bonus was seeing Mt hood from room. I would stay here again and highly recommend it. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Amazing Staff, Beautiful Hotel - Memorable Stay!

Nov 12th, 2019

My husband was traveling to Portland for work, so I came up the weekend beforehand to explore the area together. We also brought my mom in from Michigan to celebrate her 60th birthday! We booked two rooms (husband is still there in one of them). I have to say this Marriott in Portland was hands down one of the most memorable experiences we've had for the rooms and service. The supervisor, Ainsley, checked me in for the room for my mom; she was fantastic and gave her a wonderful room on the 15th floor with a killer view of the Willamette River. When I told her we flew in so my mom could enjoy the Pacific Northwest for her 60th, she offered to send wine up to her room as a gift. But beyond that, my mom came in to find wine, a complimentary slice of cake, and a card from the staff wishing her a happy birthday. Obviously, seeing your parent so excited and feeling so special really made me happy! The rooms are well appointed and modern, taking great advantage of the space. The LED lights over the bed(s) was a great aesthetic. The bathroom was renovated and clean. Water pressure and temperature was great! Coffee comes with creamer (instead of just powder) - bless! The halls and lobby spaces were pristine and well kept. The balcony was fantastic for getting air and views! Valets were attentive and helpful, albeit expensive, but that's true pretty much all over at the hotels downtown. After long days of driving all over the state, I didn't have the energy to try and street park, so I just took the valet. Some notes, in case any readers have some questions: - If you want to walk to the more active parts of downtown, this hotel is a walk. There are few restaurants a short distance, though we did like King Tide across the way (and the Chinese spot on Clay). We did not dine at the hotel. - The elevators are busy! All weekend there were conventions. Great for the hotel business, but a bit of a wait. That's it. But I 100% recommend this hotel and you will absolutely have an excellent stay. (Photos are from me and my husband's room. We had 2 double beds and a tub/shower combo. Mom had a king bed with (comfy!!!) arm chair instead of work desk, and stand-up, glassed-in shower. Other than that, rooms were the same.) TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Beautiful Views of Mt. Hood and river!

Nov 6th, 2019

Stayed here for a business conference. Staff was very nice and helpful with any questions we had. Rooms were comfortable and clean. I had great views from my window. The construction on the other side of the hotel caused much grumbling from patrons. I would definitely ask for the scenic side, as I heard none of the pounding of construction workers. Within walking distance of many restaurants and attractions. The hotel breakfast buffet was a little pricey at $26 (how many eggs can one eat?), but what you'd expect from a hotel. The hotel bar was a nice place for a nightcap. There were computers and printers in the lobby so we could print our boarding passes for the flight back home. All in all, a very nice hotel.
