Great friendly staff in a good spot of Downtown St. Louis

Stayed there for a weekend on a biz trip and was amazed by the friendly staff all around the hotel. Started with valet (get to the later again) over reception to especially the crew at breakfast. How great these ladies were. After check out we got our car pulled from valet with a flat tire. Not a second after they discovered it they started to exchange the tire and suggested to get the car exchanged at the rental place. Not sure if that is a normal service from valet but I found it outstanding that they immediately started to work on the car and made it easy for us. Thanks again to the valet crew who did fantastic for us. Not only this but the whole hotel is nice and will sure be my pick while visiting St. Louis again TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Housekeeping lets this property down

The hotel is perfectly situated, 10 minutes on foot from the banks of the Mississippi and the Gateway Arch. It's easy to reach from the airport and Amtrak station on the light rail system. My mobile key didn't work (again - Marriott really needs to work on this), but the front desk agent was apologetic as she handed me a regular card key. The lobby has been recently refreshed, and the bar was hopping when we arrived at midnight on a Saturday. There is an in-house deli and a Starbucks just off the lobby. We didn't dine in the hotel, but we had drinks at the bar, where the service was fast and friendly, and the pours generous. Unfortunately, housekeeping lets this property down badly. There were long black hairs on the bathroom floor, and a layer of dust/grime on the tissue box and glass shelf. The toilet roll was empty. The beds were comfortable, although the sheets were torn and the pillow cases had threads hanging off them. The next morning, we left the room just before 10:00, and spent the day exploring the city, returning just before 19:00. Our room hadn't been cleaned, so I called Guest Services, receiving a short, sharp reply that they would send someone. No apology. No sense of urgency. Just a feeling that this happens quite often. Housekeeping serviced the room while we had drinks in the bar, but the hairs were still on the bathroom floor, the carpet hadn't been vacuumed, nor the coffee cups replaced. We also noticed a large bag of trash that was in the hallway when we arrived, and still there when we left, two days later. I considered giving the hotel three stars here, but the housekeeping service we received simply didn't warrant it. Further training and management oversight is badly needed. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Weekend with 8 y/o daughter

Room 1941. Great hotel in a great location. Took my 8 y/o to US Women’s soccer match, Arch, City Museum, etc. Easy walking to Busch Stadium and the Arch. Room was plenty big for the 2 of us. Nice beds with lots of pillows. Partial view of the arch (its a big city, there aren’t many unobstructed views of anything anywhere). Seemed to be a safe area. I would recommend parking 1.5 blocks away at 901 Locust lot. Surface parking for $12/24hours and easy in/out. Valet was $40/night with somewhat long lines. Very nice lady working security up front acted as our concierge and gave me some ideas for our last night there. Convenient store open late downstairs and a Starbucks attached. Bar area seemed really nice but did not hang out there this time. Overall fantastic. Definitely recommend. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Very good downtown hotel

Stayed over the weekend at the Marriott Room was spacious, and the bed very comfortable. My only complaint was having to pay for parking, $28/nite. That said it is a downtown hotel and all of them here in St Louis charge for parking so it is why it is. I’d choose the Marriott again when in town next visit. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Great Hotel, Great Location Next To Convention Center

This Marriott was extremely clean, all staff I came in contact with were personable, helpful, and easy to talk to. The room was very comfortable and roomy and clean. Nothing but a good night sleep. Location was excellent. Restaurants and bars in all directions from this hotel, within easy walking distance. And very close to the Arch, no need for a car. Lobby bar was also happening every night. And a HUGE TV behind the lobby area. A fun place to hang out after working all day. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
