Comfort, convenience and Lazy River!

Jun 17th, 2019

We just spent the week in a Lock-off, which is kind of an efficiency apartment. This is a beautifully maintained property with everything we needed. (Especially appreciated the full size refridgerator) Our objective was the Lazy River over at the JW Marriott Hotel property which is a short FREE shuttle ride from the Villas. One tip: You must REQUEST a card from the front desk at the Villas if you wish to use the pools/river at the main facility. ALSO, that card will NOT WORK Friday and Saturday as those are considered high volume days. So plan your trip accordingly. One more POOL tip: The ground/cement gets burning hot during the summer so remember to take along 'Water Shoes' especially for the kids! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

It was an enjoyable stay.

Jun 10th, 2019

The rooms are standard for Marriott Vacation Club condos. Well appointed and well kept. There is a very pleasant swimming pool that meanders around on the property with plenty of beach chairs, tables and shade. It is nice, but there is not much to do there unless you pay for tours. The Activities Director led a hike to Pinnacle Peak one day because the weather was cool, but she did not have the option to do hikes on a daily or even weekly basis. Compared to, say, Hilton Head Island, it was difficult and dangerous to take a bike ride and there are certainly no beaches to walk or ride on. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

We enjoyed our most recent stay the last week in May 2019 and although we are Marriott owners, we do not own at this resort and traded through Interval. We were given a one bedroom suite/villa in the 2800 building on the 3rd floor corner with a glimpse of the pool area. We loved the location as it was quiet and serene. The fully equipped kitchen\ also had a hidden stackable washer/dryer, a dining area, large living room with a flat screen TV, a small balcony and a large master bedroom with comfortable King Marriott bed as well as another flat screen TV, a sink and tub off the bedroom and a bath with a large shower and another sink. The grounds are lovely and well maintained and they even have a herb garden that is available to guests. There are multi pools, hot tub and also shuffleboard, tennis, a golf course for a fee, and free shuttle to the Desert Ridge Marketplace across the way with lots of shopping, restaurants and a movie theater. The front desk staff and the Concierge are excellent and aim to please and very attentive. There is no daily housekeeping in the villas but towels, supplies such as coffee, laundry detergent, toiletries and towel exchange, etc. are always available by just calling the front desk and they send it right up to your room. The covered free self parking is great especially in the hot Arizona Sun. There was always parking available in front of our building. There are elevators in each building as well as luggage cards and luggage baskets for groceries. The free shuttle will also transport you to the JW Marriott where there are several restaurants, a Spa, and also a Lazy River that are all available and free to Marriott Canyon Villa guests. However, you must obtain a key for the JW Pool area from the desk at the Canyon Villas. We stayed the week of Memorial Day so the place was bombarded with kids everywhere so it was somewhat noisy at the pool areas. Our only complaint is that the kids were using the hot tub as a "splash" pool and parents were allowing their toddlers to use it as a kiddie pool with their swimmies on. Unfortunately, there is no staff walking around to supervise or remove towels from chairs that are occupied all day with towels and no one sitting on the chairs. They have an great towel system whereby you scan your room key at a kiosk to take out towels. It was a lovely stay overall and would recommend as it is in a convenient location. Best hotel that we ever stayed at

Jun 4th, 2019

The front desk was best that we ever had in all the hotels that we stayed at. We asked for extra towels and coffee packs, with in 5 mins they came up to the room and gave us the coffee. We never heard the other guess with small kids leaving the their rooms when they got up. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Amazing & Caring Management!!!

May 16th, 2019

This was our 2nd time staying at MCV. The 1st experience was 3 years ago & was horrible. I called prior to booking to see if anything had changed and the management had changed as of 2 yrs ago. We booked & the experience was amazing! The current Mgr. Helen made our vacation everything it could be.. The 2 bedroom was beautiful on the 2nd floor. It was quiet at night. Parking was never a problem. The lobby was always full of helpful staff. We will defininately go back & will always appreciate the management & staff for a wonderful experience. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
