Typical Marriott Vacation Club

Apr 6th, 2020

We stayed in the Molokai tower which was convenient. There were problems with the elevators but they got fixed while we were there. The shop downstairs although not directly affiliated with Marriott was convenient and the shop owner was very friendly. I liked the arts and crafts however I had problems with the metal print activity that were resolved to my satisfaction several months later after a few phone calls. The pool was great although we had problems finding chairs in the afternoon. The last two days we rented cabanas so we could better enjoy. The resort is within walking distance of many restaurants. The pizza at the resort and the coconut shrimp was good as well. Parking at the hotel was difficult if you drove out for dinner at night. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Not a worthy holiday retreat

Mar 23rd, 2020

The sliding glass door to the patio locked my girlfriend out on the patio because it gets stuck when closed. Management said they would get back to us but never did. Horrible. Poor toilet paper. Grout work in tub makes the tub look dirty and probably was. Hand towel rack is behind bath door and made hanging towels problematic. Didn't change sheets with Coronavirus pandemic. Not enough staff for hotel and with onsite vendors. And don't move the beach/pool furniture or you'll get yelled at. Gym is pathetic. No water cups in gym. Service is very poor. Not the ideal vacation for us. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

This place is a second home for us!

Mar 22nd, 2020

First off, I want to say that two other very recent - and negative - reviews involved stays during the current Covid-19 crisis. Most likely, some staff had already been laid off, and services would not been up to par for this facility. Our stay was from 2/24 thru 3/3/20 when it seemed to be fully staffed and at its usual high enjoyment level. Having said that, it is important to note that the facility has 4 towers. 2 are new and 2 are the old hotel. In the new towers every 1- and 2-bedroom units have full kitchens. This time, we booked this trip only three months before arrival so had to settle for a Mountain view studio unit that only had a microwave for cooking. We laughed about it a lot but still had a great time. We did "cook" a lot of meals and often took takeout from the outdoor kitchen right next to Starbucks or ate at the covered porch right at oceanside. This food was totally good! This place now also has nightly specials cooked outside right next to the walkway. The only one we had was the Japanese dinner and it was outstanding! Not sure what night but early in the week. In the past we have stayed mostly at one-bedroom units. We lucked out once with a second floor room facing the ocean. Got our best whale pictures there even though we went on several whale cruises. The Ka'anpali beach at this place is rated as one of the best in the world. The nearby town of Lahaina is quaint and historic with many good restaurants. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Old and looking it

Mar 17th, 2020

Very disappointed in this timeshare. First experience was with concierge not helpful after getting to hotel and looking for place to eat. They stated washer and dryer on each floor not there. No stove or oven. Rooms need upkeep. Staff was helpful but restaurant didn’t take room charge. Very limited food. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Have not been so disappointed in a long time. Loved my last couple Marriott owned properties but this property needs to change it’s name to Motel 8. Look at the pictures and see what you think. I stay at Marriott properties frequently as well as the Four Seasons. I certainly am not used to this. Interval International was absolutely no help, nor was the manager, Branden Reinhart, at the front desk. I traded a two bedroom Marriott property in for a one bedroom and ended up with a disaster. The only positive thing I can say, is if you have an electric car you can just take a short leap off the pathetic balcony to your electric car. The station is right there! So many beautiful hotels to stay at in Maui and Hawaii. Don’t waste your time staying here. Cancelling our time share presentation for Wednesday. Wasted time! Look at the pictures of our entry way and our view and we have one of the highest levels of status with Marriott! What can you expect? Don’t chance it! Go elsewhere! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
