The gem of Cambridge!

Aug 15th, 2019

Myself and my partner stayed in the Inn last week. We both agreed it was the best Inn we had ever stayed in, afternoon homemade treats, amazing room which provides modern features (jucuzzi) in a very elegant spacious room. Top quality service: Lisa and Christina were amazing! I was attending a conference and usually arrived late each day afterwards, she was so helpful and professional, she really went above and beyond for us as did Lisa who helped me when I had a mini crisis on the last day. I didn't even mention about the breakfast: amazing! I'm already looking forward to my next visit. Thank you all so much TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Wonderful Visit

Aug 15th, 2019

My high school friend & I recently stayed there for a girls trip we took to Boston. We were both incredibly pleased with our stay at the MPI. The place is beautiful & all of the staff were very helpful & friendly. The rooms were clean & comfortable, we both sleep great in their comfy king size bed. The home cooked breakfasts each morning were delicious. I would definitely come back to the MPI & I will recommend this place to anyone coming to Boston. 5 Stars! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Melissa Is the Rudest Front Desk Person I've Encountered in 53 Years

Jul 22nd, 2019

After seeing Boston for the day, my daughter and I returned to our hotel. I immediately get a call from Melissa at the front desk saying in a really unpleasant tone, "Checkout was at 11:00. No "hello," or any pleasantries. I responded that we were staying here for two nights so we weren't checking out. She curtly replied, "You have one night." I asked her to double-check because I could have sworn that we had two nights. She says I'm wrong, again in a disdainful tone, and offered no solutions. I asked if we could extend for another night. Again, she seemed put out but said we could stay one more night but it would cost more. After that, I checked my confirmation papers, which clearly state two nights. Moreover, we had prepaid for the two nights. I went downstairs to show her the confirmation but she wouldn't look at it. She only said that it was my fault because I should have noticed when I signed the check-in papers that it was for one night (although they had charged for two). I asked why she was speaking to me so rudely, and she said that I had inconvenienced the cleaning ladies (who are lovely by the way) accompanied by yet another loud sigh and an eye roll. I said I didn't understand why she was so rude to me when I had reserved two nights, paid for two nights, had the paperwork to prove it, and had no idea that the cleaning ladies had been told that I was checking out that day. The inn is nice, and the rest of the staff is friendly, but I literally have never had such a bad customer experience at a hotel desk before. We will not stay here again because of Melissa. Very Nice Bed and Breakfast

Jul 21st, 2019

My wife and I stayed here while she was attending course work at nearby Lesley University, and it was a delightful stay. The Inn is in a well cared for historic building which is a short walk from Lesley University, Harvard Square, and Porter Square. Our room was nicely decorated, keeping with the overall character of the place. Staff were, to a person, polite, professional, and very personable. Breakfast is included, and is your choice of either a nicely done full breakfast or a continental breakfast of cereal, yogurt, bread, and both come with fresh fruit. Our room, the dining room, and the common areas were very clean, and there is a beautiful sitting garden. Parking is included, as parking is limited in the area. The only caveat is that parking is in the basement beneath this classic house, and is a tight squeeze for larger vehicles. Overall, the Mary Prentiss Inn helped make our visit to Cambridge very nice with its location and amenities, especially all the nearby restaurants. We will definitely stay here again the next time we are in Cambridge. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Lovely historic inn

Mar 22nd, 2019

This is a charming, well cared for and cozy historic inn to stay in while in Cambridge. Only a 15 minute walk to Harvard Square. The included breakfast was delicious, the bed was perfect, the water pressure in the shower was excellent! Also the tea and cookies upon our arrival were lovely. This is exactly what we were hoping for. Highly recommend it. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
