Beautiful with an amazing team

Aug 7th, 2019

We arrived very early with the intention of storing our luggage. As we approach the desk Soraya greeted us and welcome us to the hotel. She upgraded our reservation to a suite. The entire staff were very friendly and helpful. Thanks Soraya and the entire team for an amazing experience. We will be bac TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Worst Hotel Stay I’ve Ever Experienced

Aug 5th, 2019

I have never been more disappointed or disgusted after a hotel stay. Had I not been attending a wedding at the hotel within a couple hours of me checking in, I would have found somewhere else to stay. As I was getting ready, I found a roach crawling around. My feet were so black from walking on the floor for an hour, I had to wash them and wear shoes the rest of my stay. There were blond hairs all over the place. It wasn’t mine because my hair is dark brown and purple, so I have no idea when the last time it was cleaned. The toilet didn’t flush properly. One of the closet lights didn’t turn off properly, which made it difficult for me to get to sleep. The headboard was loose, so every time I would turn my head in my sleep, the headboard would bang against the wall and wake me up. One of the times I woke during the night, I found another bug crawling on me. And when I got out of bed in the morning, my leg was covered in bug bites that weren’t there when I fell asleep. To top it all off, when I went to check out, there was no manager on staff that I could express my concerns to. I was told they wouldn’t be in for a few hours, but that I could write down my issues and expect a call back regarding them. It’s been two days, and no one has contacted me. The wedding and ballroom were beautiful, so at least there’s that. But the bride did find a roach in her room, as well. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

You Get What You Pay For...

Jul 31st, 2019

Our experience was below average for multiple reasons and I believe there are many takeaways, from a business standpoint that could be learned. 1. Our need for timeliness was not met on several occasions. The time that it took for the staff to fulfill a request was ridiculous. a. We called three days in a row to have an iron replaced because it was not function correctly. Every time they replaced the malfunctioning one, it was replaced with another defected iron. b. We called to have towels brought up, and that took an exceptionally long time. c. Our room service took over 40 minutes to arrive (they said 20-25 mins). We played it safe, as every other experience had been unpleasant thus far, and ordered burgers – at an inflated price - the fries were cold and the burger was tasteless. They forgot to bring up our beverages, which took an additional 30 something minutes to receive. 2. The description of the room stated that it was a suite, setting the wrong expectation. Our room was not a suite; it was a basic hotel room, with a viewless balcony (a wooden fence covered by some sort of greenery), equipped with an out of service Jacuzzi (disappointing to say the least). 3. Our need for safety was definitely not me. On our last day, there was an evacuation alarm requesting that we evacuate the premises immediately. There was no staff in sight guiding us to safety. We followed the Exit signs and were led to an underground parking structure. Probably NOT where guest should be in an emergency. Come to find out, it was a false alarm and the staff was not educated on how to override the alarm. I gather that because the services we requested took an abnormally long time, the hotel is understaffed; or I would like to think that to be the case to give them the benefit of the doubt for the poorly executed service we received. Out of our entire stay, the most troubling experience was the false alarm. If I could make a suggestion, during an emergency, a team member / staff should be placed on every floor directing guest to the appropriate exit. Had it been a real emergency, I am sure that casualties would have occurred due to lack of planning and preparation. We, amongst many other guest were confused as to where to exit, despite following the “Exit” signs. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Robert Layton

Jul 30th, 2019

Checked in with Robert Layton. Asked for a suite with a view. He gave us a view of a wall. The hot tub is broken. The suite smells. When we asked for his last name he laughed. Very disrespectful. The man doesn’t belong in the hospitality industry. The room should be sanitized and refurbished. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Not so pretty anymore

Jul 24th, 2019

On my last visit, July 2019, our stay was not very memorable. The room was musty to the point that our bed felt damp. The floor was sticky. The two chairs, by the table, had very poor upholstery. Lack of outlets, especially in the bathroom. The one in the bathroom is all the way to the top, by the TV and not in the best location. The room was so musty that it felt like we had the doors open. It felt like we were sleeping outside. This made for a very rough night. I left a pair of jeans out to iron and they were damp in the morning. My first visited the Mayfair Hotel was in 1987. It was beautiful, classy and elegant. I have stayed at the Mayfair several times after. I have noticed that the last few times it has deteriorated a great deal. I never thought I would see the Mayfair this bad. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
