Cute and charming

Aug 23rd, 2019

I had a very short stay there but it was great. Loved that it was quiet and not in the touristy area. Although it was still walking distance everywhere. Staff was friendly and room was great. Cute, charming place. I will be back there. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Very pleasant

Aug 15th, 2019

The hotel has a beautiful traditional style. Its location is perfect, at a 10 minutes walk from Marigny and at a similar distance from the French quarter. Our room was in a super quiet separate wooden cottage. It was quiet, pleasant and comfortable, with a good bed. Wifi was free and fast. The only three minor negative points are: - the rather limited quality of the breakfast (similar to what you have in a motel on the highway) - the lack of light in the bathroom, making it uneasy to for instance shave. - the fact that they charge the car park a high price (31USD). Do not go there: there is a public parking for 1/3 of this price at a 2 minutes walk. The swimming pool is particularly present to freshen up in the evening. All in all, a very pleasant place for a stop in NOLA. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Cozy Hotel

Aug 14th, 2019

We just finished our 2-night stay at Melrose Mansion, in their Donecio suite, celebrating our Anniversary. The room was beautiful and very spacious. Unfortunately, we didn’t get to enjoy the balcony as much as we had anticipated, but it too was beautiful and spacious. The trees in front of the mansion offered the private balcony privacy. There were several tall windows which made the room feel open and brighter, as opposed to traditional hotel rooms. Our room was well maintained during our stay: clean towels, emptied trash, made bed, etc. The breakfast was delicious and definitely filling. We felt like we could have eaten less so we would have been more hungry to try new restaurants! I guess that saved both our waistlines and budget. Lol. I was a little disappointed that nothing was done to acknowledge our anniversary...a small note recognizing as much would have been greatly appreciated. We booked directly, and even notated the reason for our stay. I know they saw it as it was mentioned during checking in. They were slow, and not fully booked so I’m not sure as to the reason. The only suggestion, as there’s no door separating the room and bathroom, would be to add a curtain to help add a sense of privacy to the bathroom, and to help darken the room in the morning. By no means is it a deal breaker or reason not to stay in the suite!! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Nice small hotel on the edge of the French Quarter

Aug 6th, 2019

We had a wonderful few days relaxing and spending time in the French Quarter. The pool was nice as was the room. Breakfast was good and coffee and ice water were always provided. Easy walk into the French Quarter. We will come again. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

The staff was fantastic! It was our first time here. They gave us a map and guided us through the French Quarter and places to go and see. The Mansion was beautiful and very clean. Comfortable beds. Great Breakfast! A+ TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
