Highly recommended

We had a great stay at the Crowne Plaza. When we arrived I was happy to see that the parking lot had security. The lobby was elegant and the concierge was very helpful and polite. The rooms were up to standard of what you would expect from a crowne plaza. The beds were very comfortable with 4 big fluffy pillows. The bathroom was clean and the shower had great water pressure and temperature control. Highly recommended. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Rooms on the smaller side, but nice renovation

Mar 28th, 2019

Well, where to begin. The rooms are nice but there could be a few things better. The night stands are itty bitty and hard to put just about anything on. It would also be nice to have a microwave in the rooms. Almost every Holiday Inn or Holiday Inn Express (all part of HIG) has a microwave in the room. There is a microwave down in the lobby to use but not that convenient if you’re on the 12th floor. The room renovations overall were nice though and the lobby as great! The staff was incredibly friendly. Overall, the rooms were quaint so if you are looking to stay in and keep your feet up with some space, this is probably not the hotel for you. If you’re looking for a bed to sleep in and then run around town, this could be your place. You'll notice in one of my photos, our phone is missing just about all of the buttons at the top - no fillers put in and is not ideal with a child in the room. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Good value for the price.

If you want basic, clean, good value for the money and centrally located, then this is a hotel you should consider. I stayed there one night and here are the pros and cons of the Crowne Plaza Memphis East: Pros: Good value. My room was $114 a night. My dinner of bowtie pasta with shrimp, mushrooms, and spinach in a pesto cream sauce was delicious and I highly recommend it. My bed was super comfy. Staff were very polite Hotel was centrally located. Cons: Even though the hotel is centrally located, there is not much around. Almost reminded me of an Industrial park. I would probably stay in downtown Memphis if I went there again. Even though it just went through a major renovation, so I'm told, the bottom drawer of my dresser was broken. The TV remote did not work properly. It was very noisy outside my door, so I didn't sleep as soundly as I should have. I was supposed to have early check-in but rooms were not ready and I still had to wait until 3:00. No bellboy to help with luggage. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Staying here now...and wish I wasn’t.

Family of 4 staying here currently - 4 people in a doible queen room and you only get 2 towels each night. We’ve had to call for towels every day - typically takes 2+ hours to receive them. Never got coffee, soap, etc replenished. Didn’t have a hair dryer and when we asked housekeepfor one they just stole it from another room right in front of us. Not particularly clean - stained chair, corners aren’t vacuumed. And the best part - keys have to be reprogrammed several times daily. Constantly running to the front desk since the keys don’t work. Worst ever. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Never coming here again.

My family had to choose a last minute hotel on our drive home from Nashville. We were directed here for the night, and at first it seemed okay. It was packed and busy, which seemed like a good thing at first. One member of our group went inside to check in and get our rooms while the rest of us grabbed our luggage. This took about 10 minutes as we were a bit far from the building. Anyways, we get in and start waiting. AN HOUR PASSES BY. We were told the floor was being cleaned, but all of the rooms are small? We were going to need two rooms, but we didn’t exactly care if they were on the same floor or not. The people in line AFTER us got their rooms before we even did! The lady finally got to us and we went to the elevators. It took a good 5 minutes until we were in one, and two elevators had already been down on the ground level: one, people packed into, and the other, literally dropped off people and shut immediately after! The lady tried to catch it, but the doors almost squished her hands. (A side note: I didn’t see the certification in there to state that it’s safe, which you can find in other hotel elevators.) We get to our rooms, and realize there are only large two towels. We call room service and no one picks up. While we were waiting, the walls were realized to be thin as heck. A family next door with children could be heard, and their baby wouldn’t stop crying—we didn’t get much sleep. I go and shower, where I notice the ceiling has a spot on it (either rust or mold?) and the floor tiles were disgusting. For the price? IT’S NOT WORTH IT. To summarize: • Horrendous wait • Elevators are seemingly crappy • Thin walls • Poor service • Gross bathroom • High price isn’t worth it TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
