Lovely retreat, fantastic service

We arrived from a Paris heat wave and were instantly happy at this hotel. Staff were wonderful, room was great, pool was lovely. Staff went out of their way to make us comfortable, indulged us with snacks and were just generally helpful. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Slightly worse than poor actually.

Aug 10th, 2019

This was a desperation choice as our first choice of hotel closed unexpectedly. We don't usually elect to stay at corporate chain hotels but we had little alternative. Don't be swayed by the 4 star rating as in this case it is not merited. The hotel seems to operate on the basis of offering the least in order to get by. There is a cheapness and mean-spiritedness about the place. The staff are either inefficient, unwelcoming or rude. The room we had was small which I can accept but the bed linen didn't fit properly and the bed was uncomfortable to boot. Kettle and consumables provided but you were only offered nasty cardboard cups. The walls were thin and the bath towels even thinner (those in the spa were OK so we used them instead). Almost no toiletries provided and a rude note saying that if you smoked in the room they'd charge you 150 Euros. Housekeeping spasmodic. The extractor fan in the bathroom was always on and had been so for some while. The advertised spa was only 50% working as the hamman was down for maintenance. Small sauna at 60-65 degrees. Two showers but no toilets in the spa complex. Breakfast was a poor show and woefully overprice at 18 Euros if you had to pay for it. I asked whether any bacon was available one day and was given a rude a brusque 'non'. Mean little sign in the breakfast room saying that if you took anything away you'd be charged. How small-minded can you get? Lack of maintenance and care evident with detritus in corners. Didn't use the restaurant (those in Port en Bessin are only a 20 minute walk away) but the menu we saw was unimaginative. When we checked-out the lass asked if we'd had a good time. I replied "that the area was good but the hotel not very nice". To which she replied "Oh, thank you." That about says it all. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Great location

Family trip from Grandparents down to Grandaughter. Great location for exploring Normandy and its history. As always with Accor the rooms were spotless and tidy. Lovely pool and a great little sauna. Can definately recommend the Aperol Spritz TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Avoid this hotel!!! Its a terrible hotel, rooms have stale damp (dog pee?)smell!!! Aircons don't function properly!!!

Room small and smelly and tiny bathroom with a stupid door to the shower , you can barely fit thru the door!! The aircon in the room was not functioning properly, we were told to open the window!! We try to change rooms but were told that this was not possible because of a bus load of guests coming the next day.!! The surroundings are very nice and with a decent renovation and the right management this could be a first class hotel!!! As it is at the moment only 2 to 3 stars. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
