Let down by poor customer service

Dec 8th, 2019

My wife and I visited this hotel for a 3 night stay at the end of November. We had booked some months in advance and had been looking forward to using the pool and sauna after a days walking and sightseeing. On trying to find the pool we decided to ask at reception. Only then were we told that the pool was closed for renovation until January! I enquired why we could not have been advised that the pool was going to be closed as it had been listed as one of the amenities when we booked. This would have allowed us to choose an alternative. This was met with a shrug of the shoulder and being told that the website had been amended to show that there was no pool facility. Not helpful and no sense of regret from the staff. Accor were no more concerned when I called them on my return home. They told me that they would have to send an email which I would have to reply to in order to make a complaint. I’m still waiting for that email, I suspect I was mugged off. Very disappointed with the hotel and Accor. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Dec 7th, 2019

We stayed at the Mercure Korona in Budapest for 4 nights ..on arriving we were greeted with a smile and were very impressed with the foyer ..so festive and welcoming...but most of all the staff !In particular on the desk, Alexander and more so Balint Nagy who took the time out his role and with the utmost patience and kindness helped us to sort out our boarding passes for our return journey to England ..thankyou so much Balint...10/10 for this lovely well placed within the heart of Budapest hotel .... no faults at all . Room 301

Dec 4th, 2019

Been to the Mercure Korona many times and its always a very good experience. After a refit on the hotel, it has a better reception and bar area, though the prices in the bar a very high the standard of wine and food on offer is very good. I chose Room 301 which is one of the hotels Privilege room, this gives you lots of space, toiletries, tea and coffee making facilities and access to the less crowed breakfast bar. This also offers a range to food and drinks during the day. The hotel is a great location, very near the River Danube, Market Hall and shops are within walking distance. Great, friendly staff and very clean. One downside to room 301, is that it seems to be very noisy with what seems to be a mechanical noise very close to the room, possibly the lift or other services though not a huge issue, worth a mention if you are a light sleeper. Overall, a very good hotel and they strive to improve and impress each time I visit. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Week a Budapest

All very nice, central location to see so many things on foot, excellent breakfast service and very wide time slot. only flaw, very small room, but complete with everything and window locked for security reasons. this thing does not please him, I love very much to get some air in the room. excellent no smoking in the entire hotel and nearby. good hotel

Nov 26th, 2019

Visited the hotel recently on a business trip. The hotel was recently redone and it looks quite nice. I had a privilege room at a good price and it was a nice room (new, all the amenities provided). I had the breakfast and evening snacks in their privilege club and it was also good. The location is very good, you could walk easely to the major attractions downtown and the area is filled with restaurant and bars. I also had a drink in the evening in their bar/restaurant on the lobby and it was a good experience (good service). Reception was helpful. They don't have their own fitness room, you have to cross the street and go to a private club which is not very good, but not very bad either. It is a big and crowded hotel, but I liked it.
