mid sort of accomodation

Greeting on arrival was very welcoming, another person in front of us but we were greeted and let know that they won't be long to assist us. Got into room and it was average. Bed was clean but but bathroom did need attention (wife cleaned it herself). The duty manager was very apologetic and did his best to make us feel comfortable and give us a better stay after notifying them of the bathroom issues. The room was stuffy but a previous stayer had removed a screw from a window which allowed us to open it for some fresh air. The hotel is over 100 years old and we took this in consideration with the amenities. The take away breakfast was cooked well and was very filling. We did slept well in the bed, no discomfort at all. The rooms do need more airing out. So, as for the whole stay would say that 1 night was enough and will next time look to stay elsewhere. Todd the duty manager (i hope that is his name) made the stay worthwhile. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

I stay at Mercure Grosvenor as I find it in a very convenient location, easy access to transport, Adelaide Oval for football/cricket, Festival Theatre for shows, Casino, Restaurants, shopping etc. Room sizes are good, comfy beds & linen always clean & tidy, bathrooms have been updated. Staff are always very pleasant and helpful. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
No adjustable aircon
Dec 13th, 2020
The fan / aircon is not adjustable. There is a hi, med, low fan switch that makes no difference. Room temperature was uncomfortable. Never should have booked. This is December so it is warm outside. Website shows aircon. What a crock! There are many other hotels in Adelaide, so best to check them out. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Good value quirky old hotel

I had stayed at the Grosvenor as it was previously known years ago and found on this most recent visit that it hadn't changed one little bit. The guy who checked us in was most welcoming and efficient. Location is good with the Rundle Street mall being only a 5 minute walk away. room was a good size and adequately furnished. It was spotlessly clean. We were a little cold so asked how could we adjust the heating as we couldn't find any controls. Alas there were no controls but we were offered a portable heater which we declined. Yes it was a bit quirky, indeed it is celebrating it's 100the birthday. But it was very comfortable and an excellent price. We would happily stay here again. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Very tired and expensive accommodation, does not deserve 4 star rating

House keeping did not make up room, when reminded @ 5pm, front desk said they went home at 3:30pm. Phone in room U/S so had to walk to reception to remind them about the room make up. Location is good, but there are plenty of better hotels in the area. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
