about Mercure hotel : the lounge/restaurant manager is so rude. he talks to the customers in a very disrespectful way. he is very racist. my experience in this hotel is extremely bad because of him. I'm not booking in this hotel again, no wanders the hotel reputation is bad. the hotel's quality is so cheap. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Booked for a weekend stay to celebrate our anniversary. Checked into a room on 7th floor. The bathroom was dirty and hadn't been cleaned. Blue dried shower gel was on the wall and soap dried onto the bath. It looked like there had been a bathmat down at one point and there was a huge stain where it previously was. The rest of the room looked OK except the remote control for the TV was filthy. Covered in grime which looked like a build up of weeks worth. I dont live like this at home so was not prepared to pay to live like this for 2 days. I rang reception and I was swiftly upgraded and moved to a Premier suite. The guy came in and took photos of the unclean bathroom and remote. We couldn't quite get the setting on the heating right and it just seemed to blow cold air so we spent our time in the new room cold. The noise from outside was loud on both nights and there was quite a bit of commotion with police incidents. The positive thing was that all staff were highly professional and extremely courteous. They made the difference. Thee premier room we were upgraded to was a nice room. All rooms really could do with updating. Lastly, pillow were like boulders and were not comfy in the slightest. It was a cheap stay so for what we paid i would say it was good value for money. Had I have paid anymore I would have been disappointed. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

First time in Manchester and can definitely recommend this hotel. Hotel was really clean and a great location but the best thing about this hotel is the staff. All really friendly and welcoming especially Dan who worked on reception who's customer service was amazing (definitely deserves a raise). Will definitely be visiting again. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Me and my partner usually LOVE this hotel, the rooms are cosy, comfortable and clean and staff are usually lovely however man who check us in on 10/10/2020 was rude then we were put into room 1135 which was FITHY. Black mold all over window, bird poo on the inside of the window & dirt everywhere, bathroom was dated and not maintained as there were cracks and chips everywhere and door handle was broken. Bedding was clean though which was good. Over all not a pleasant stay. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Greeted by the concierge on arrival and was very polite, and checked in by a really nice guy on the desk. made my way up to my room, at a first look I was really impressed with the room, was spacious, big bed, big tv, nice and modern. And then went into the bathroom... Now, the bathroom wasn’t great, picture your nans kitchen from years ago. It didn’t match the hotel room or the hotel as a whole. The rest of the building is modern and classy and it just looked like they forgot to re decorate it. There were broken tiles, stained bath, ceiling was cracked, shower head was leaking. I have attached pictures. I had my dinner in the level 3 restaurant. It was very good, I was greeted and taken to my seat which over looked the city, even though it was raining it was a good view, especially with the police disturbance on the road which gave me something to watch whilst eating my dinner. I had the Chefs Speciality, Brie Stuffed Chicken Breast with some veg and Chorizo. It was amazing, I was so impressed, with a nice cold bottle of beer, followed by a classic sticky toffee pudding. The room was comfortable to just sit and then when I got into bed I rested my head on a rock hard pillow. All 4 pillows were very hard. I personally prefer a softer one but people have their preferences. Other than that it was a comfortable night, although the windows were old fashioned double glazing it meant I could hear alarms and sirens from outside, but from living in London I’m used to that so wasn’t an issue. Woke up and made my way down to the Level 3 restaurant for breakfast. Again seated with a good view, the service from the waiters and restaurant staff was excellent both the night before and the morning, very polite and welcoming. Probably the highlight of my stay was the staff on level 3. So over all it was a pleasant stay, some positives and some negatives, but that’s life. All Covid restrictions were in place with signs about masks and social distancing etc and sanitiser around the hotel. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
