Good location

Nov 19th, 2019

first, rooms were very clean, which is not always the case in Naples. Hotel is in a good location, with about a 10 minute walk to both the Via Toledo (main shopping area) and old town. Breakfast was standard hotel fare. Only negative was that the reception area was very small. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

The hotel is just like the city, dirty and smelly

Nov 17th, 2019

Just stayed in this hotel for 1 night before flying out of Naples the following day. The is hotel is truly a representation of all the bad bits of Naples. It was extremely noisy all night on the street side of the hotel, made worse by the fact that the air conditioning did not work so we had to have a window open, even so the room was extremely hot. The room was grubby and dirty, had seen better days and had an underlying unpleasant odour. The mattress was saggy and should have been replaced a long time ago. The receptionist was generally a bit rude and accused me of making a mistake with my booking and that I would have to pay extra before actually looking into it and realising it was the hotels mistake. I stay in Accor hotels a lot for work and pleasure and generally they are good. This one in Naples lets the brand down. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Bad check in experience

Nov 7th, 2019

We had a confirmed reservation for 3 nights. When we arrived, the guy at the desk said our reservation had been canceled, the best they could do was that night only as they were “completely booked”. We had a hard time getting any real reason why, other than “it’s not our fault...we didn’t cancel it.” We’ll, WE didn’t cancel it either! We asked when it was canceled and it was back the previous month. He said we should’ve received an email to that effect and he even checked my husband’s phone for it.As a matter of fact, my husband had received an email check in reminder the day before, which also confirmed the dates of our stay. That didn’t seem to matter. We asked to speak to a manager...we’re told he’s not in until Monday (this was Sat.). He then made a call to someone, lengthy conversation all in Italian, and after he hung up he said he could give us a room for those dates but at a higher rate than our reservation. We took it...a 40 Euro difference....really had no choice. Who DOES that? They were “completely booked” and then magically found a more expensive room? We asked again what happened and this time it was some story about the deposit being insufficient, like a problem with our credit card, but that same card worked everywhere else we used it as well as when HE ran it. We had all the evidence in the world and it didn’t seem to matter. The room was probably what we’d originally booked, an interior room with no view but very quiet for that reason. That and we had no neighbors until the last night. My husband has stayed in Accor hotels in the past and we’d been in the one in Florence this stay and though the location and convenience were great, they really need to do a better job cleaning. There were boot prints on the walls by the beds, like someone used the wall to help tie their laces, and the bathroom could’ve been a lot cleaner. Other than our check in experience, everyone was nice and helpful, breakfast was great, but I’d be hesitant to book there again. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Three nights in a central part of Naples

Nov 5th, 2019

I recently undertook a 14 day visit to Italy. I spent three nights in Naples. The one great advantage of the ACCOR group is that there are no surprises in any Mercure hotels. Well managed and centrally located and helpful for arranging trips to Pompei and the Island of Capri TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
