Quintessential B&B

Oct 9th, 2019

A very convenient and well located B&B right by the Piccadilly line Earls Court Station. Lucy is a fabulous host, welcoming and accommodating. I was traveling on my own with my toddler and may life very easy. The B&B is very simple and humble but all we needed for a secure and good nights sleep to recoup for the next days adventure of sightseeing. It felt safe and homely. Thank you Lucy! Clean room at reasonable price

Sep 16th, 2019

The Merlyn Court is a small privately rum hotel a short walk from Earls Court tube station. It is in an area with plenty of amenities. The hotel offers clean basic accommodation at affordable prices. They do breakfast which consists of only tea and toast. They make it clear when booking that this is all they provide. Room was good size comfortable with en suite facilities. There is no TV in room or other amenities. For a short break in London this hotel offers excellent value for money and is very accessible. The landlady Lucy was a very pleasant lady.. Recommended for a short budget break in London TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Fine, but basic

Jul 19th, 2019

Room was clean, bed was firm. Otherwise minimalistic. As noted in other reviews, breakfast consists of tea/coffee, toast and butter/marmalade. No TV, basic furnishings, internet in lobby only. It was fine as a place to sleep and is in a good neighbourhood. Nothing more; nothing less. The price reflected the lack of amenities. It's not a place you'd hang around; no problem as we had places to go and things to do. We found the owner, Lucy, very friendly and helpful. All in all it was a positive experience. Prejudiced owner

Jul 4th, 2019

First question when I checked in the hotel was were I was born. I am asian American. Probably, based on that the italian midle aged owner of this small hotel gave me a room in the basement with no windows but with a own washroom although, I booked a standard single room with shared bathroom through almost one month before. She said that she cannot give me the booked room because the hotel is overbooked what I did not feel it judging on number of people I have seen during a short time of breakfast, and people walked in the hotel because my room was right below the main entrance. The room is very small, and the carpet on the floor is old, and smells of mold and something else. Furniture was very old with pretension to be antic. The mattress and pillow are very hard and noisy although the beds are advertised for this property as pillow-top. Bathroom was ok except some patches on the walls. The shower is old style not modern. Toilet have to be flushed twice. Bed linens were of cotton and very clean. By cleanliness of bed sheets was superb, 1st place between hotels I have ever stayed in London. This room is only room in the basement. The breakfast was very poor, tea or coffee with toasts for a daily indigestion with a butter and marmalade. Not worth money I have paid for. Discourteous and Disingenuine

May 6th, 2019

I reserved a room at Merlyn Court hotel last week through Expedia. The staff at Merlyn Court then notified me that my booking for my hotel had not gone through and that I needed to rebook. I then went to Expedia to rebook and found that there were no rooms available. I then contacted Merlyn Court and they said they would reopen a room on their grid in Expedia. They never did reopen the room. In addition, they refused to book me into a room using their own system. I have scheduled meeting with the idea that I would be staying in this hotel in this location in London. Merlyn Court has cost me both time and money with unprofessional customer service.
