Perfect Hotel Location & Service
Jul 19th, 2019
This is my go-to hotel when traveling to Mexico for business. Nice room sizes and modern. You cannot beat this location with access to major highways, 20 minutes drive from/to airport (watch out for traffic), close to shops, touristy areas just beautiful all around. Great amenities for business travelers with Marriott loyalty status. The executive lounge floor offers full service: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner as well as hors d'oeuvres mid afternoon. Moises, from the executive lounge, was amazing. He is truly a walking example of what customer service looks like. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

From the minute we walked in, we were overwhelmed by the exceptionally friendly service. Carlos (bellman) greeted us and took care of our bags, registration, & setting us up in our room. The concierge lounge is on the 16th floor, with great views & outdoor patio. The food is excellent, with multiple choices. The wait staff is extremely friendly. Carlos (concierge) was very helpful and took care of our sightseeing arrangements. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

The Marriott saved us from a crooked used car dealer!
Jun 27th, 2019
The Marriott in Mexico City did more than I could ever have asked for. Picture this, my friend just graduated from his Ph.D. after many long years of work. To celebrate, we decided to fly to Mexico, buy a car and drive it south into Panama until the road ends. It was supposed to be the trip of a lifetime. We landed in Mexico City and bought a used car, something we accomplished with difficulty since my Spanish is rusty and my friend's is non-existent. Still, we were proud of our 2006 Chevy Equinox and ready to ride south. We made it about 110 km before the transmission started to slip. Another 20 minutes later and the car literally would not make it up a hill. It crawled to a stop on the right lane of a 2 lane highway going through the mountains. With difficulty, and expecting to die at any moment, we were able to turn the car around and drive it down hill, back into Mexico City. We were distraught. Our dream road trip had been ruined, and we were stuck with a $5000 lemon. I suggested we pull into the Marriott, a nice hotel where we at least knew what we could expect. In reality, we got much more than that. As soon as we pulled up, a hotel worker named Fernando noticed that I was upset (we were both exhausted and frustrated by the whole ordeal). He immediately consoled me and told me it would all be okay. After discussing the experience with him, and telling him that we weren’t sure what we would do next, he offered to help us out, maybe even help us speak to this used car dealer and straighten things out. This was all before the valet had even parked our car. We went straight to bed, but the next day, Fernando was true to his word. After a long discussion with the concierge about what our options were, Fernando put on some civilian clothes and came with us to the used car dealership. What ensued was 4 hours of us and the dealer yelling, mostly right past each other as we were not speaking the same language. But Fernando saved the day. He acted as translator and diplomat. He looked out for us on everything, from getting there, to staying safe, to negotiating a refund… a REFUND, for a faulty car sold by a used car dealer in Mexico City!!! I cannot thank you enough Fernando. You made our trip! He stayed with us, being perfectly professional the whole time. There are so many other details to the story, but the point is that this hotel, and Fernando especially, saved our entire trip. I cannot recommend the place highly enough. I don’t even think we would have received that kind of service from the Canadian embassy. TL;DR : We bought a lemon of a used car in Mexico and the Marriott, and especially Fernando, made everything right and got us a refund. Thank you so much TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
