Nice hotel but needs a little process improvement

We stayed here before and after a great vacation to St. Lucia (to be reviewed separately, of course). We picked this airport due to its proximity to the airport and free shuttle (more on that later). First, the good: great bed and pillows, great shower, room-darkening curtains that really work, and a very courteous staff. The food options are actually quite good despite being a limited menu. Then, a couple of things the hotel needs to fix. First, the shuttle. It claims to run every 30 minutes but we waited 40 on the first trip. We waited much less on the second trip but it was packed with 20 people after it made all the stops, despite signs limiting occupancy to fewer. The shuttle really needs to run every 15 minutes instead of 30. Second, housekeeping requests. We always request two extra foam pillows (because my wife is allergic to feathers and I prefer a third pillow to sleep) and usually two extra towels so we can shower off the travel gunk before going to sleep and still have fresh towels for the morning. On the first trip, I requested them on the app but had to call the front desk an hour later when they still hadn’t arrived. On the second trip, I requested them at the desk during check-in and again still didn’t have them an hour later. Tried to call the front desk but that button on the phone didn’t work. Went down there to inquire and the clerk graciously called housekeeping...only to be told that there was only one pillow left. In a hotel that size, that should never happen. So I told him one pillow would be fine. It arrived a few minutes later. Without the towels. Sigh. All in all, a good stay. If the hotel can fix my fairly minor quibbles, I’d happily stay there again. The website did not say no restaurant,no bar(crown plaza restaurant and bar open with distance)no bellman in the morning 8am,the shuttle bus was not on time,we booked club ,but without service,there was nothing,no club,no breakfast,zero,no coffee in the room,ok,they delivered,the shuttle bus stops downstairs,no luggage trolleys at airport,you must lift your suitcases in the elevator,covid?better close some hotels, TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Marriott Covid 19 Refund issues.

Be wary of this Marriott as it is my experience they have not followed Marriott's COVID 19 refund policies. This is a Marriott that I have stayed at many many times over the years. I had two reservations, one for 15th to 17th April and the other for 26th to 27th April. They were for a pre and post cruise stay. Where I live (Trinidad) Borders were closed (They still are) and the cruise line had cancelled the cruise so I called the hotel on March 16th to Cancel my two reservations. I waited 90 plus days as per Marriott Covid 19 refund policy and did not receive any refund. I contacted the Hotel on July 1st to inquire about my refund. I was told I would receive the refund in 10 Business days and sorry for the delay. That was followed up by an email from Jeffery R, from Marriott Bonvoy and Lester Rivera from MIA Marriott stating the same. As of today 27th July I have not received my refund and no one is responding to my emails. I have emailed Lester Rivera who emailed me and also Alexina Beauperthuy , Director of Hotel operations several times and no one has responded. I am very disappointed in The MIA Marriott handling of this bearing in mind I have stayed here more than 50 times over the years getting to know many of the staff very well (See previous reviews). Unless this is dealt with I will be forced to take my business elsewhere. Edited on July 31st. UPDATE: after posting the above Mia Marriott contacted me saying there was a problem with their system. The system said I was paid where as I was not. My two reservations have since been fully refunded. Thank you Marriott for finally dealing with it and thank you Tripadvisor for giving me the opportunity to highlight the issue where I was being ignored before. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

No customer service & privacy laws continued to be breached. never coming back. you should be ashamed for how much you charge without offering basic accommodations. unlike any other marriott i’ve stayed at. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Great Stay in Miami

This is a better than decent hotel centrally located with a nice bar. We appreciated there was starbucks and decent food offerings without leaving the hotel especially in the morning. It's an airport hotel so the lobby gets very busy and noisy but overall I found the hotel to be first rate and fairly priced. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
