Adequate

Bed and pillows comfortable. Relatively clean. The thing that irked me is that they falsely advertised an included breakfast which, “due to COVID”, they do not serve (not even coffee). That aside, it was adequate. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Poor management

I recently stayed here and had the worst experience with the staff and the room and highly recommend to avoid this company whenever possible. My wife and I along with my dogs stayed here from the 23rd - 25th of August and according to the website at the time we booked our trip a continental breakfast was supposed to be served along with coffee and or juices. Now with the current state of the virus I understood why no breakfast was served but they could’ve at least had decent coffee in the rooms but no, the best they could do was to tell me to run up the road and get coffee from McDonalds. So for three days that’s what I did. Now mind you I have an aggressive puppy and I know this so I take precautions upon entering or exiting the building because we were in the first room by the lobby and I was told there’s only one way in because all the other doors were locked. When we checked in to the room the remote did not work to the TV the front desk had me pick up another remote that was missing pieces but did work, the beds are hard as a rock and the sheets are no better. On our last day I was returning from picking up coffee from McDonald’s and as I was walking in with my dog someone was coming out and my dog started barking so I went around by the side of the building and let the patrons exit. As I started to enter the building again the front desk employee comes out and says I have to keep clear of the front entrance with the dog and I said why do you think I went to the side of the building! and if you had another entrance I would be happy to use it, Well apparently he did not like my tone or my dog because as we went by him my dog was barking at him (my dog can since a wimp) and he got upset. Well not 5 minutes after entering the room the phone rings and it’s him telling me that we have to leave and leave NOW or he’s going to call the police, I told him it’s our last day check out is 11 but we were in the process of packing up my wife was in the shower and will be out soon, he said again YOU HAVE TO LEAVE NOW I’m calling the sheriff and hung up. 5 minutes later the sheriff’s knocking at the door kicking us out. According to the website they accept dogs just not ones that bark. And on top kicking us out they revised my bill and charge us a higher amount than agreed upon which is in dispute. Again AVOID MICROTEL AT ALL COST! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Time for a break

Hotel exterior was clean and we'll maintained. Front desk staff was friendly and courtesy. Hotel interior was clean and up to date. Rooms were clean and beds were firm to sleep on. Hotel had easy access off main road. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Very rude staff!

We had booked this hotel in Expedia before the COVID 19 pandemic for us and my parents. Well after the pandemic we canceled our reservations through Expedia. We later found out that Expedia had only canceled one of the reservations. We called the Microtel and the man anger was very rude and would not refund our money. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Very poor customer service

My husband and I were in Bryson City for 2 weeks for business. We were extremely disappointed with the service we receive while staying at the Microtel Inn in Bryson City. As it was necessary to travel during Covid 19 and we take all precautions very seriously by social distancing and wearing a mask, unfortunately we did not feel the front desk staff took this seriously. As he was very rarely spotted wearing a mask or practicing social distancing.. We were unable to get housekeeping due to Covid so we asked to move midway through our our stay so we could get a clean room. The front desk agent expressed we would have to check out by 11:00(no late check out granted) and re-check in after 3:00 which meant packing and moving everything to the car only to return to a different room that had been cleaned after 5 days! During our stay we were expected to take our dirty towels to the front desk to exchange for clean ones, however one day into our 2nd week someone had delivered clean towels to our room without cleaning or observing the Covid 19 restrictions of entering rooms. We were greeted at each encounter with a very rude and demeaning comment by the same front desk agent. No breakfast was available and the laundry machines were also broken during our entire stay. Overall a VERY disappointing customer service experience!! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
