Relaxing night.

Dec 28th, 2020

Fast check in, not many amenities I guess due to covid, I stayed just one night but I enjoyed walking around the hotel. the room was small but nice, the view wasn’t good. the area seem very unsafe during the night. I wouldn’t stay for pleasure at this hotel. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Great Stay

Nov 7th, 2020

Upon checking in, Albert immediately proved himself to be extremely helpful and accommodating. There was a small error in our reservation, and Albert quickly contacted his manager and got the whole situation ironed out. He even upgraded our room to a suite! It ended up being a wonderful stay and great birthday surprise to me. The hotel itself is simply gorgeous. Steeped in Hollywood history, it has been home to several academy award shows, as well as, the site of several tv and film shoots. I highly recommend a stay at this historic hotel, and when checking in, be sure to ask for Albert! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

The completely ironic "Stay Safe with US" package was disappointing AF.

Oct 26th, 2020

My boyfriend and I were extremely disappointed with our stay. I booked the "Stay Safe with US" deal and it was a joke. The person checking us in was completely unaware of what it entailed (or pretended not to know in order to up-charge us) which created several problems. The stay didn't feel safe at all for several reasons, which I will get to below. Overall, this was a very disappointing weekend. My parents had their wedding here back in 1988 and we had hoped to experience the beauty of the hotel as they did, but the current clientele and lack of attention to advertised rates/offers were unsettling. First, she didn't upgrade us until I asked why the Stay Safe with US deal wasn't being honored - there were plenty of rooms available and a complimentary room upgrade is included in the rate. Second, The Stay Safe with US rate is supposed to have 24-hour check-in, but apparently, that doesn't matter. Upon checking in, the front desk agent tried to charge us a $50 fee for checking in at 2 pm....2PM!!!! This is a typical check-in time and the rate advertised 24-hour check-in. This is either an oversight on the agent's part or a complete scam. Third, we were charged $50 for parking when it was indicated in the Stay Safe deal that it would be INCLUDED in our rate. When I asked why we were being charged, the front desk agent patronizingly said "it's downtown LA, parking here is like this." Yes, I'm aware, I've lived in LA my whole life and don't need a patronizing lecture on parking here, however, I am thrown off by the fact that the hotel advertised COMP PARKING as part of the rate. Even worse, we had to park the car ourselves due to covid in an extremely sketchy adjacent structure called Millenium Towers while random groups of people (who I do not believe were guests...) decided to smoke weed in their cars for hours on end. We were stared at as we unloaded our luggage in the dark, unmonitored parking lot. Recipe for disaster if you ask me. Fourth, the entire hotel smelled like weed. Weed filtered into our room as we slept (on the non-smoking floor). Even worse, there was a literal plastic bag covering our smoke detector upon our arrival as if someone had tried to smoke in the room before we arrived. Does this sound "safe"? I think not. Fifth, as someone else stated, there was a resort fee (for pool etc.) that charged you for things you cannot use due to covid. This was fine, I guess, but it was not articulated before being handed the bill and I had to ask for clarification. And worst of all, there were NO temperature checks, mask checks, or hand sanitizing stations available with the exception of 1 bottle on the front desk where you check-in. Overall, disappointing. Trash that is what this Hotel has become.

One person to answer the phone and handle the front desk. Their website does not tell the current condition of the area or the Hotels lack of everything. Enjoy the breakfast they offer it is a complete inaccurate. Very dangerous stay away from LA and the Biltmore. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
