Pleasant resort marred by the details

Overall our stay was satisfactory but that’s just it. It could have been much better but it was a promising resort let down by attention to details. The grounds are really attracting and having a main and ‘hidden pool’ was welcomed so that kids have a place to play. On the backside of the main resort building there were several lawn games for kids to play (or the young at heart). Fire pits throughout the property were a really nice touch and are a communal place to gather at night and commune with fellow guests, as well as an ambiance warmth under the cloak of night. But the gift shop was under stocked our entire stay, not being replenished neatly quickly enough. There were few bottles of water available and no diet cokes for 2 days. In the main lobby there were three wash hand basins in the men’s restroom with no soap - an avoidable oversight. And a shadow was cast over what otherwise would have been an enjoyable time on our room’s balcony at night because the patio light wasn’t working. Small details. But they add up. The property is tired, run down and filthy. Trash was left scattered around the property and would sit for days unattended. Indoor and outdoor tables were dusty, dirty and sticky and in desperate need of being wiped down/cleaned, same for all the outdoor seating. WiFi Internet service failed at our building —not sure if it was ever repaired. On Sunday no towels at the pool and water dispenser at the large pool was empty--water dispenser at small pool was empty as well. No pool service, only walk up service at the bar. Lobby bar/coffee shop was scheduled to open at 7am each morning but only opened on time 1 of the 4 days we were there --the other 3 days it didn't open till much later at around 9-10am. The nearby restaurant/cafe attempted to step in and make us our espresso coffees but they tasted bad and then charged $17.00 for one 16 oz Americano drink. I had them reverse the charge and threw it out. We had to leave the property each morning and drive to get our morning espresso/coffee. We waited 20min in line at the front desk to check out then the bill was wrong and contained misc unexplainable junk charges that the cashier/front desk couldn't explain. After 15min minutes trying to sort it out with a line of people cueing behind us we had to leave to catch a flight. We still don't know if our final bill is correct or if we were overcharged. We stayed at Mirimante about ~5yrs ago and had a very nice stay. I think the property was recently acquired by Hilton, which may account for the precipitous decline. Seems both the property and overall service has gone to crap. I consider this a 2 star/diamond property--on par with a budget motel. Overall very poor experience and we will not be back. Cozy Winter visit

Needed a place to spend the night before visiting the Mt. San Jacinto State Park and this was available without having to stay in Palm Springs. The check-in process was prompt and friendly; the receptionist mentioned that the resort had a present for children if the child could find the elf in the resort. This was a great way for my nine year old to start exploring the lobby, and surrounding areas until he found it. We took a picture and showed it to the front desk, and they gladly gave him a toy. The toy was a great way to start our stay. The (multiple) fire pits were great because they gave us a bag with everything we needed for smores. The following morning we had breakfast in the restaurant; great food with friednly service. I highly appreciated the fact that they offer a Tesla charger!! Why not an "Excellent" rating? The restaurant was closed for dinner; we went out to dinner and it was not a pleasant experience. This is not the hotel's fault, but can a hotel of this category close the restaurant for dinner? Valentine Nightmare

Pre booked a Kings bed Jr suite. for 2 night. The gal who took the res booked if for 3 nights upon receiving my confirmation I had to call back and get it corrected. at first they told me it was non refundable and they couldn't help even though they made the mistake. Finally after speaking with a manager they corrected it by canceling the 1st res and booking a 2nd one. When we arrived we were given the wrong room. a Jr suite with 2 queens in it. We had to go back to the front desk and get this corrected. The made the corrections and upon arriving at the 2nd room we saw the king size bed, but then noticed that the sofa bed was out and it had been slept in. 100% unacceptable. since it was now 5pm and we had dinner res at 6pm in your on site restaurant we made arrangements for the front desk to have house keeping come in and correct the issue while we were at dinner and they offered to comp 1 night.unfortunately this was only the beginning. After being seated for dinner I let the server know that I was allergic to shellfish. shortly after that we were brought a chiefs special appetizer. I asked does this have shellfish in it. I was told NO. I asked a 2nd employee if it had shellfish and was assured NO. Lastly I saw the manager and asked him if it had shellfish, I was assured again NO. Guess what I ate half of it only to have the manager run up and tell me yes it had crab in it. The manager did jump in his car and rushed to get me benadryl. and comped 1 meal. The night was ruined and I was taken out of commission. This should have never happened. Food allergies are not to be taken lightly, I was extremely disappointed in the staffs lack of knowledge as to what they were serving, Lastly upon check out sunday, the shift manager from friday had not compt the room for one night as was promised and I had to sit at the desk for the better part of 30 minutes causing up to miss out tee time. What was supposed to be a romantic getaway with my girl and a fun day of golf turned into a wasted weekend that we will not soon forget. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Understaffed and needs updates

Spent 3 days on business at Miramonte. Found the rooms to be underwhelming and unstocked of basics (coffee, tea, sugar). Corporate events planned well in advance for cocktail hour and company dinner were way understaffed. Took 1 1/2 hours to get a beverage. Wouldn't recommend. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
