Globe Conference Accommodations

Feb 12th, 2020

Found this place because it was close to the conference center. Pleasantly surprised with the quality especially with the low room weekday price. At first I thought it was small- like a European hotel, but had every thing we needed AND the bathroom was large. You could tell it was an older hotel that had been renovated, but they did a good job. Smelled great! Do not miss the Cibo restaurant in the lobby- super cuisine and you get a 15% discount. Good location

Jan 7th, 2020

This hotel is in a great central location and affordably priced - its definitely a "you get what you pay for" situation. it is an older building so there are a lot of nuances with that, including: - There is no central AC. It was winter when we went but the room was quite warm and humid. We called front desk and were told that AC was off in the building for the season but they did bring us a portable AC for our room! - The room was on a slight incline due to the floors not being level - it was most noticeable in the bathroom - Older style windows and with the location it could be noisy for someone who isn't used to "downtown whitenoise" - The bed was hard, yet bouncy? Not the most comfortable sleep I've ever had - There was very minimal water pressure in the shower. It was more like a light mist - Issues with the toilet, which they did come and look at it right away Overall though the room was clean and the staff did their best to accommodate us. For the price to location I think it's a decent hotel. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Vita King Experience

Dec 29th, 2019

We've stayed at Moda Hotel before, but this was our first stay in a Vita King room (these rooms are referred to as Moda Series at Symphony Place on the website now), which is located across the street from the main hotel. Upon arrival at our room we were immediately impressed with the ceiling height, huge windows, and decent size of the room. Everything is modern. Also appreciated a mini fridge, and in room coffee. Also, the building was very quiet compared to the main hotel building. There was some street noise, but nothing too disruptive. The downsides of this room included the fact it was very difficult to get it to a comfortable temperature. It was freezing when we arrived, and it never really got comfortable during our stay. The curtains were very hard to open and close, and the door on the shower/soaker tub combo was in need of a big adjustment. Also somewhat awkward getting in and out of tub for a shower. Ice machine located in main hotel, so had to get it filled across street and then bring it over. Location is pretty decent depending on what you are hoping to do during your stay. We were there for a concert at Roger's Arena, which is about a 15 minute walk. The walk back at the end of the show seemed to take longer. It certainly felt longer. Not sure we will stay again unless a there's really great offer. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Great Location

Nov 27th, 2019

This hotel is strategically located at the heart of Vancouver downtown. It is at 5 mins walking distance to Granville or Vancouver City Center train station. The hotel is close to H-mart (asian grocery store), Nesters market (another grocery), 24-hour Mc Donald's, and Robson street (where there are eating places). The only downside of the hotel is the heater. Against Physics basic principles, they place the heater near the ceiling, instead of on the floor. Thus, warm air is not circulated well in the room. You have to set the temperature a bit higher to stay warm. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

GREAT HOTEL FOR STOP OVER

Nov 26th, 2019

Stayed in this hotel before a cruise and the location is great for walking around downtown and close to the ship terminal. It's an old hotel so it is not spacious or new but it is clean and a good price. Would stay there again. Close to the all-night bar strip and plenty of shopping within walking distance. The lobby is small along with small elevators but you get what you pay for and in my book its a winner. Lobby restaurant had a good breakfast and the Bar around the corner had great food.
