Perfect weekend getaway

Aug 13th, 2020

My wife and I had our wedding at Monmouth 25 years ago, so for this big anniversary year we decided to go back for a weekend stay. I got the Anniversary Getaway package and upgraded to a king suite. The room was beautiful. It was in a separate building from the main house, which I recommend for a couple trying to get away from it all and spend time together. Between the amenities of the room and the extra special touches that were included in the package, we definitely felt spoiled in luxury. Breakfast was excellent, and our dinner at Restaurant 1818 was absolutely perfect. We made a point to speak to the chef to let her know. All the staff members we met were personable and helpful; we really felt like they cared that we had a wonderful stay. It’s difficult to convey how amazing our weekend stay was by simply listing features and amenities. My wife and I were able to rest and reconnect at Monmouth in ways that I don’t think would be possible in any other Hotel or B&B. The secluded location of our room, the amazing meals on site, and the beautiful grounds where we were able to stroll and explore, rock on a porch, or sit and look out over the pond and talk for a while were all part of an experience that can’t be summed up in a list. We will always treasure our memories of that perfect weekend. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Beautiful Place in COVID Times

Jul 24th, 2020

This is a beautiful old plantation. The gardens are very nice, although we missed the azalea season. The historic rooms are well maintained, and the main house is a glimpse into the past. The personnel are spectacular: gracious, lively and efficient. Like all restaurants in the COVID constraints, they aren’t at their best. Hope they can get back up to speed soon. It’s a lovely destination. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

A wonderful find

Jul 20th, 2020

We just returned from our trip to Nachez and I would highly recommend staying at The Monmouth Historic Inn. It was a real delight. From the moment you get there to check in, you are surrounded by beautiful grounds, warm and hospitable staff and charming interiors. Our suite was located in a guest house on its own private lake stocked with widemouth bass. The owners checked in on us and made sure that we had use of fishing poles and anything else to make our stay enjoyable. Dinner at the mansion's restaurant was indeed a treat with the waitstaff attentive and the food top notch, the complimentary breakfast of eggs, grits, bacon and a biscuit was enough to launch us on a day of sightseeing The Old South. Because of Covid 19, we were required to wear our masks in the office and when being seated in the restaurant, but otherwise with the tables being spread out at a safe distance, and the rarity of running into other guests, we were comfortable. Thank you for a truly dellightful stay. We will be back. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Jun 21st, 2020

Monmouth’s restaurant 1818 which always has a great menu and staff, was on top of their game amid Covid-19.They were masked, spacing was perfect and sanitary. No free for all atmosphere here. Thank you for following the rules for your staff and visitors.Glad to see Gabriel! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

First Class all the way

Mar 30th, 2020

I was on a motorcycle trip with wife and friends from Kansas City to New Orleans. This was as far south as we got because of COVID-19. Our small group got four room on the grounds of the beautiful place. The bed were comfortable and rooms were spotless. Everyone on staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was delicious.
