Class-less

Worn rooms. Stuck up service. Unbecoming that a 600 dollar a night hotel charges $15 (a day!) for internet access (or gives you terribly slow "public" internet connection). Location is great, and the gym is amazing. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Location! Love staying at this location for shopping, eating and easy access to Hollywood. Wish they would change out the room decor (art, etc....) as it is seeming tired. Service people are very, very, good. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Car valet will tell you all, Ferrari, Aston Martin, Lamborghini, McLaren and a $55 parking fee.. Nice rooms, lot of staff.. But $500 per night.. not sure I would pay that price. Rooftop bar is nice but nothing special. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

If you want a Beverly Hills Experience this is NOT the place to stay!

May 27th, 2019

On February 2nd, 2019 we stayed at the Montage Beverly Hills. I usually don’t pay these prices for hotel rooms, but we were coming into town for a special occasion, to find and purchase my daughter’s wedding dress. Since it was my daughter and a few friends, I reserved two rooms with separate reservations in anticipation of the $100 Amex hotel credit on each room. When we arrived, around 2pm, the receptionist at the desk was great. Except, he neglected to mention tips were not included in the $200 Amex incentive, which would have led to less confusion at the end of our stay. Only one room (622) was ready when we arrived, so we had all of our stuff delivered upstairs to 622 and went to lunch in the hotel. Room 622 was lovely, with a balcony and a nice view, just as I had requested. Lunch was expensive, but delicious. We sat in their cramped, upstairs bar, because the outside pool/patio area was closed due to rain, totally understandable. Soon after we returned to 622 my nearby room was ready. The room was just as requested, a slightly larger, balcony room with a view. Except there was a stale, lingering smoke smell permeating the room. I reported it to the receptionist downstairs and he apologized, moving me to a “much better” room. Room 225 was a bit of an upgrade. It was a full one bedroom suite, but it was on the second floor, with no balcony or view, as I had originally requested. Not wanting to complain, once again, I accepted this new, larger room. However, I came to discover there were problems in my bathroom. One, the bathroom TV was inoperable. Two, and more important, the shower handle fell off when I entered the shower on Sunday morning. There were also problems upstairs in the bathroom of room 622. The accessories were worn. There was a problem with the shower handle in this room as well; the water handle was loose, spinning and difficult to use. There was a problem with the keys. The continually stopped working. By the end of our one night stay we had a 8-10 unworkable keys. Food from another room was left for hours sitting on the floor in the hall, including a shrimp cocktail. The smell wasn’t very pleasant. Though the hotel made a good first impression, on closer inspection the property is aging and not well maintained. For $900 plus a night their rooms should be well groomed. All of the above being said, after a great night’s sleep—the beds were ‘heavenly.’ In the morning we met downstairs for breakfast in the cafe, and it was delicious. Where my real complaint begins is upon Sunday’s checkout. After paying Amex nearly $2000 for these rooms I was presented with a hefty bill from the hotel, full of additional charges. I will list the charges below: 1. I was informed tips were not included in my $200 hotel credit. It would have been helpful to know this in advance. 2. BOTH rooms were charged for Lunch and Breakfast. 3. My room, 225 was charged for breakfast on Friday, THE DAY BEFORE WE ARRIVED. 4. The clerk had to be reminded, by me, to put the parking charge toward my hotel credit. It took quite a while at the front desk to straighten out this bill; to get the mistakes corrected, and the appropriate credit applied, and finally to pay my new, properly adjusted $80 bill. 5. And worse, while the clerk and I are muddling around this problem, the male clerk standing next him was vicious, shooting me visual daggers, glaring, staring at me, trying to send me an unmistakable, silent message, “Hey Lady! Just pay the freaking bill!” Totally unprofessional. It was embarrassing, these mistakes were the hotel’s not mine. This was the first time using my Amex Platinum card for travel. Finding a wedding dress for my daughter was a once in a lifetime event, and I really wanted to splurge and make it truly special. For the cost of my Amex card, and the cost of these rooms, I wasn’t impressed. In the past we've stayed at the Montage in Laguna Beach, and it was a totally wonderful experience with none of these service or maintenance issues. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Fantastic Location-Amazing Quality

May 25th, 2019

We stayed with the Hotel during our honeymoon trip. The Hotel is a 5 star establishment for sure. Rooms are fantastic. Elegant and clean. The hotel staff are very professional and friendly. It has anything you would ask from a hotel fo this caliber and price range. I was looking at many other hotels before booking with Montage and have stayed in other hotels in previous visits in LA. But i think no other hotel can compare with the location of this hotel. It is located at the best spot in this area (of course if you want to be by the beach it is understood that it is not a good choice for you). Would visit again. Parking Advise: I read a review before going to avoid the parking of the hotel as it was priced high. Followed the advise and there are several option to park around at very nice prices. But the price is relevant to the wealthy people going to this place from this area, so the price is not so crazy if you think about it. Expensive for you rented car, ok if you are a local with an expensive car. Also saw a video on instagram later on, of a valet guy from this hotel that took a clients lambo for a joyride so that was that also. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
