Undeniably rotten

What is advertised by VRBO, OceanBreezeBeachVacations, and Monterey Bay website are conflicting. We visit Myrtle yearly and this visit was horrid. I dont plan to use these folk again, nor do I suggest you to use them. Furniture is ragged, the room is not maintained, attendants will not respond to your needs face to face, phone nor email. If you plan to use these folk just hand them your rental money cause that's all they want. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

not coming back

First off, the parking garage was horrible. We couldn't even make the turns to go up to the next floor because it was so small and tight. We finally made it to park, and one elevator was broken, and the others you could hear every push, pull, creek and sound of the elevator. Lastly the room smelled like marijuana, the resort looked basically vacant and after we encountered all of those- we literally packed up and left 30 minutes after we got there. We wanted a beautiful resort, with no issues. And we had issues the moment we pulled into the parking garage. I would never come back nor would I ever recommend this place. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

First and Last visit.

Here now, leaving soon and will not be back. We had to switch rooms due to our entire room smelling like marijuana plus the bed was broken. The next room was cleaner but a/c was moldy. Couldn't enjoy the balconies for the smell of smoke everywhere. People were throwing fire crackers off the balconies all hours of the day and night. Yes I called and complained, others did too, nothing was done. People out hollering and slamming doors. We spoke to many people having the same problems who had been coming here for years but now also plan to not return. Solicitors are allowed on the property, there were random pamphlets stuck in the door every time we came back to the room. TVs were hard to navigate, no channel guide or list. Breakfast was pitiful; the hot foods are rationed to you by a server, super strong coffee, paper thin slices of overripe fruit, frozen waffles. Pools already need cleaning, the indoor hottub had bodily residue in it. There was used gum on the pool decks and a brown substance smeared on the arm of a deck chair. My kid split her knee open on a sharp edge in the pool. There was rarely ever any towels. Elevators were full of standing water from folks hopping out of the pools and straight in them. No supervision whatsoever. Front desk staff was super polite on the phone and at check-in, then had major attitudes when you could get their attention off their phones. I'm extremely disappointed and I'm not the type that prefers extravagant accomodations. Clean and quiet at night is all I really care about, neither is available at Monterey Bay. Beach location is nice but 100% not worth staying at this sketchy place. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Doing a better job on cleanliness.

This is my favorite location of the beach. They improved on cleanliness however breakfast was sometimes not as good as in the past. Waffles weren't cooked properly and pancakes tasted not as fresh as it should. Room condition and maintenance of pools was better this time than in past. Will visit again. Please improve breakfast to make it more fresh. And improve some offerings. Like have fresh watermelon and cantaloupe and strawberries and peaches on occasion that y'all scoop out so it won't get contaminated. Have fresh iced tea in large urn like McDonald's. That will make it more hygienic. Have both sweet and unsweet. Or just have a fountain machine with Lipton tea as a offering. During this time of covid-19. It is nice to have food in the back and have people get it for you. It would be all so nice to have eggs cooked to order. Visit Sea Watch they really do breakfast well. They have even a waffle guy that makes the waffles. I like this because kids can be very messy. Overall not a bad experience parents just need to watch their kids more around the hot tubs and pools. There is a sign for a reason not to allow children in the hot tub under 9 years old. Not only is it safer but with covid-19 you're taking a big risk letting your child being around older adults and elderly. Aside from the families not taking care of their kids. The hotel is about average but improving. I like the improvements y'all have made. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Glad To Be Back!

With everything going on in the world with COVID-19 our recent trip to Monterey Bay Suites was definitely needed! They have went above and beyond to make their guests feel safe by sanitizing everything, including the areas everyone regularly touches and each guest room. I felt very safe staying here this past week. The pools opened Monday and we were thrilled! Thank you Monterey for another great stay and we look forward to seeing you again this fall!
