helping my daughter move

Jul 9th, 2020

I went to Montreal on June 27 to help my daughter move - this marriot was nice and close - perfect for me -within waking distance. The hotel was nice and clean - beautiful room - very quiet because of covid - however i would recommend staying there with out hesitation. That's the good part and now the bad - I have a Ford 150 pickup truck - I had parked on the st while helping my daughter - but being unsure of parking regulations i thought "well i'll drive and park near or at the hotel". There was construction all around and i had to phone the hotel to get directions - the fellow was very helpful and i arrived at the entrance to the hotel/parkng garage without incident - HOWEVER- i was directed to park on the 5th floor - and on the way down the top of the truck banged on the roof of the parking garage on numerous occasions before i could turn around ond get out of there - I just had it repaired at a cost of over $1200.00 - im sure this must have happened to other people - why on earth wouldn't the fellow - who saw my truck - say " hey pal - it's a low ceiling - you may want to re think this " TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Bright, beautiful and great location

Feb 28th, 2020

This recently renovated hotel is charming! The rooms are bright and beautiful with amazing views of the city! Within a five minute walk to the Bell centre, shops and restaurants (in the heart of downtown.) Looking forward to my next stay. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Charming!

Feb 24th, 2020

The hotel is undergoing renovations but don't let that deter you from staying here. Rooms are newly renovated and very nicely appointed, beds and pillows comfortable, the coffee in the room was actually very good and came out hot! All staff we interacted with were bilingual, very friendly and helpful. I fell in love with the dining room/theater, we had lunch and breakfast there both meals and service were excellent. We will definitely make this our place to stay when visiting Montreal. Looking forward to going back next year when the theater begins to have dinner shows again. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

THE Place to Stay in Montreal

Feb 23rd, 2020

I have stayed at the Marriott Chateau Champlain for more than 35 years. It is currently undergoing a renovation, yet none of the work disrupted my stay. It is perfectly located in the heart of Montreal, connected to the Metro and underground city, the Bell Centre, the train station (a bit of a walk and a few escalators, but still inside, important during my cold January visit) and many other sites. My room was immaculate with one of the best showers (four separate settings, from waterfall to rain shower to streaming jets to wand) and a comfy bed, in which I slept soundly. Beautiful view from the high floor. Their fitness center is one of the best I have seen in any hotel. I was visiting my son, who is a student at McGill. He and I enjoyed drinks at the bar and the only area where the facelift was apparent was the room in which I had breakfast, which was clearly a temporary setup. All staff were courteous and friendly. On an October visit to Montreal, I stayed at the Renaissance because the Chateau Champlain was booked solid. I would choose this hotel over the Renaissance in a heartbeat. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Best location for a hotel

Feb 16th, 2020

We stayed at this hotel both for a hockey game and for sightseeing. The staff was great and the room was well kept. The concierge was great as well with ideas for sightseeing. If you are going to see the Canadiens this is a must stay place. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
