Charged our card for three rooms and refuses to refund

We booked two rooms for one night at a cost of $199. When we arrived, the clerk advised we only had one room reserved. We showed her the booking receipt we printed out from when we booked the room. It very clearly said "Two rooms, one night." She said, "That does not prove nothing. We go by what our computer tells us." So I asked her if she did not have two rooms, and she said she did. For the life of me, I don't understand why there was even a discussion if she had the rooms, but after getting very upset at us for some reason unknown to me, the clerk rang us up for $199 for two rooms. Now they are saying we did not show up for one of the rooms we had reserved and they have charged us for three rooms. We demanded a refund. They agreed to a partial refund for the room less 25% they paid to booking.com. So they only want to pay us $75 rather than the $99 we were overcharged for. We have tried to explain to them that we did show up. They incorrectly told us we only had one room, but gave us a different room. We were there, but they claimed we did not have two rooms reserved. They added the third room, not us. Honestly, I have never been treated so badly. The service was crap, the rooms smelled of mold, and the sheets had hair on them. When we woke up in the morning, the maid had parked her cart right in front of our door and had the wheels chalked to prevent it from moving. When we finally got out of our room, we found the cross hallway was totally blocked with cleaning carts and equipment. We had to walk all the way around the hotel with our bags to reach our car. I asked to speak to the manager. The clerk said she was the manager, and spoke to me very angrily. There was no reason for us to even be having a conversation. We clearly had two rooms reserved. The error was completely hers. This is not an idle threat. We will NEVER again stay at this hell hole. There is nothing they can say or do that would restore the good night's sleep they cost me. At the very least we deserve a refund on the third room we did not even get to sleep in. I personally believe we deserve more than this for the tremendous incovenience and worry we were caused. When we checked in the staff was not so friendly. We got our room and the key card would not work in the door, We got ate up by mosquitos trying to get in. We went back to the office and told the staff and she said let me reprogram your key. I asked for a different room due to the mosquitos and she said that is the room you requested. It was late and we were tired and just stayed and had to spend half off the night killing the mosquitos. We checked out the next day and the manager was there and I told them about the problem and they said sorry you had a bad experience. I will never stay here. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Had a good stay at this spot got to get extra towels since we were all sandy from the beach. Okay wish we had a bit bigger beds but overall our stay was nice. I will make sure to visit again in the near future TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Close to the freeway so you get out of Galveston quickly. Rooms are small bathroom was small too. Just basic beds no breakfast.. beds are close to aircon so feels noisy the unit switching on and off. 1 night stay ok but not for several vacation nights. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Pretty clean hotel, no microwave or fridge, comfy bed, didn't check out the breakfast, pretty quiet overall, it's away from the seawall strip but it's not that far either,quick access to freeway, will stay again. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
