It seems like they are getting a remodel but it can't come soon enough. I was actually scared a couple of times. People live here. The stairs in the center were removed due to construction so you had to walk past all the other rooms to get to yours. There were people standing on the balcony having loud "discussions" so trying to get past them with our luggage and child was a treat. There was some kind of fight in the parking lot at 730 am and then a construction crew started grinding the fences at 745. This was on a Sunday. The pool is closed and looks like it hasn't been cleaned or open all season. The room itself was small but cleanish and decent. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
What a dump!

Trash all over the parking lot. Fast food scraps and litter on the stairs. Door locks that come off when opening. This place is supposed to be being renovated. It needs to be torn down and rebuilt. Reading other reviews here on Trip Advisor should have told what expect. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Needs to be rebuilt, not just remodeled.

I would have to say I am sadly disappointed with my stay. I booked the room for a night, I come every year to Sioux falls for one night, I booked this one for the pool, free WiFi, and the pool was not open, with an excessive heat warning for Sioux falls that was very upsetting for my kids. The free WiFi finally connected the morning I left. And the rooms are definitely not as clean as I would like. I am assistant manager of a housekeeping department my self, I expect better than this from my teams, and would never allow a room to be rented like this. There is so much wrong with the structure of this building I wouldn't consider it safe for anyone, I think it needs to be rebuilt. Front desk ladies were very friendly, they get a gold 🌟 from me. Went to check in on March 16th , Expedia booming, asked desk lady if I could look at room b4 checking in, she gave me the key. The front windows and doors were very dirty, Walking to room , a set of steps leading to second floor rooms had a step missing and caution tape around it. They paint or siding was falling off , bottom siding many pieces of missing . Very much in disrepair. The room Had torn carpeting, holes in the drapes , there was a can with the top cut off and lots of other stuff under the beds, everything very old and not clean. Went to leave the room and could get the door to shut . Worked on trying and gave up and left. Did not stay here, the desk clerk said she would cancel my reservation , which she did efficiently. This property in my opinion needs to be torn down and rebuilt. We were 2 females and would have been afraid to stay there. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Found a bed bug and took it to the office where they agreed it was a bed bug. Offered another room. We declined. Asked for a refund. Rudely declined on the grounds I could of brought it with me. Night person refused to give me any info to contact management or owner. Went back following morning after spending nite in a different hotel to ask for refund. The day person was courteous and refunded our money. A much much nicer hotel for only a few dollars more, Sleep Inn, a couple of blocks down on same side of street. They have clean, modern, well kept property with free breakfast. Definitely a no brainier. Sleep Inn is not pet friendly but this trip that wasn't an issue TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
