Definitely Worth A Visit (Hotel & Island)

We found the Mount Cinnamon Resort & Beach Club a nice gem of a place situated towards the more quieter end of Grand Anse beach. The spacious villas set into the hillside give some of the most fantastic views over the bay and over to the capital and surrounding mountains. The Cinnamon suites of which we were staying are very well equipped, superb wi-fi, safe, super comfortable bed, full size refrigerator, large usable balcony and indoor seating area and again those views..wow! They really took our breath away when we first entered the room. Our tariff was bed & breakfast and found the breakfasts perfectly acceptable as well as the normal offerings of cereal, fruit, cold cuts, juices and some local produce, you also have the option of the cooked items from the breakfast menu such as eggs how you like, sausage, bacon,, breakfast burritos, pancakes, omelettes, bagels, french toast etc. We did dine a couple of evenings at Mount Cinnamon with good service and food although we did feel the a-la-carte portions were a little small for the price paid but the menu selection was inventive and all the produce was locally grown from their own gardens which is to be commended. They do a couple of themed nights with some light entertainment such as a tapas night and a BBQ on a Friday when they light a bonfire on the beach and a local band will entertain while you dine. They also do an in room pizza menu which were very good. The beach cabana was popular for lunch time food and was reasonably priced, we found the beach furniture and facilities in good condition with free non motorized water sports for the more energetic. Beach drinks service we found to be poor with no beach service apart from a couple of occasions, but not a great effort to get a cool drink just a few steps away yourself. Nice touch of free chilled tap water with melon from a dispenser on the bar with paper cups to keep hydrated. Don't be phased by the 5 minute walk to the beach from the accommodation it really is a nice gentle walk through some beautiful and well kept gardens, they really do a top job with the landscaping here, plenty of flora & fauna to admire. If you want a change of scenery turn left outside the hotel and walk up the road for about 10 minutes ,and you will find BBC beach, much more prettier than Grand Anse in our opinion, super quiet and chilled out, it has a small bar and restaurant and super soft sand and nice to spend a couple of hours. There is also an inflatable water park in the bay that for a small cost I would imagine would be great fun for adults and children alike (open from 10am). You will walk past some building work that is ongoing if you go to BBC beach where they are building a new hotel and whilst on this subject other than a few trucks coming up and down the road and some general building noise it is just far enough away and wont cause any nuisance when at Mount Cinnamon and we felt it never really impacted our stay whatsoever. Mount Cinnamon are also constructing a few more suites higher up and externally are just about complete and only internal fitting out ongoing. We used a taxi to get to the capital St George's for a day and cost was $40 XCD one way. Also we hired a private driver for a full day at a cost of $240 USD, we used Ashton Taxi service (great guy, reliable and knowledgeable) and covered Etang reserve to see the monkeys, lake, nutmeg factory, rum distillery, Belmont Estate and chocolate factory and Concord Falls. We also had a day to the Grenadines that involved an early flight to Union Island on SVG Air, then a gentle sail to Mayreau to snorkel then onto the Marine National Park of the Tobago Cays for fantastic beaches and swim with turtles, lunch on board then off to Palm Island Resort (private Island) but all beaches are public and here you will find some of the best in the Grenadines. Reception at Mount Cinnamon have a number of tours available, but the Grenadines tour was booked independently with another operator on the Island and is subject to a minimum of 7 persons for it to go ahead and weather dependent. Overall we had an enjoyable stay at Mount Cinnamon we enjoyed dining in some of the surrounding restaurants which were about a 20 minute walk away so if you have difficulty in walking maybe a half board option may well suit (evening meal inclusive), but we felt safe, the people are friendly, the Island of Grenada is beautiful and felt truly Caribbean and undeveloped at most for now. I hope it doesn't change too much, it deserves to be visited if you are holidaying in this part of the Caribbean. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Excellent holiday on a lovely island considered by the Eden family from London!

My wife, 16 year old daughter and I had a great stay at Mount Cinnamon. Wonderful staff and management extremely attentive to their guests needs ,Mark general manager and Shauna guest relations manager notably. We stayed in a hacienda suite which was the best accommodation we have had over a number of family holidays across most Caribbean islands. Washing machine and drier very well appreciated and bed so comfortable. Food was fine dining but we found it a bit rich over 11 nights all inclusive, but we were offered the chance to vary the meals and composition. Breakfast excellent and beach savvy food cabana good but suggest a few more lighter traditional bites eg cheese toasted sandwiches, chicken nuggets or hot dogs would go down well as they always do lunchtime by the beach particularly with younger guests. Only down side is that after 9 pm there is nothing to do so people go back to their rooms after eating so not possible to mix socially with others. Friday night was advertised as a beach bbq which was actually another seated serviced meal with a local band playing music and it would be nice to have a buffet / traditional bbq rather than another sit down meal which would allow guests to mingle with each other and possibly some dancing. Twice a week excellent live music whilst eating meal up to 9pm. Otherwise no entertainment. If we stayed again which we would love to it would probably be the bed and breakfast option to mix up the dinner choice, see some other restaurants ( umbrella bar 10 mins away, Aquarium and La Luna well regarded by other guests) and perhaps enjoy some more live music later into the evening. This is now one of our favourite islands and we enjoyed great excursions via Johanna owner at Sunsations Tours. Half day island tour ‘Don’t go bananas’ and great day trip to the Grenadines and Tobago Keys thrilling on a 10 seater aeroplane and then schooner trip to various islands and snorkelling. The beach and sea at Mount Cinnamon is fantastic and only a short walk from the hotel. Overall we really enjoyed the stay with a family feel to a really nice hotel. Final word of warning go well prepared for the mosquitos they loved us !! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Great hotel in the Island of Spice

My partner and I recently returned from an amazing holiday in Grenada and stayed in this gem of a hotel. From our first day welcome, to our last day goodbye the staff at Mount Cinnamon were AMAZING! (special mention goes to: Tahira,, Judy, Petri-Ann, Ativa, Ashlyn and Cuffie). On our first evening we were welcomed to the managers cocktail party where we met a number of the staff and enjoyed some rum punch. Everyone you come across at the hotel is happy to help and and will engage in conversation with you, you are definitely not just another number at this hotel. Thank you Mark and all the staff for the genuine hospitality!! We stayed in the Cinnamon suites which were cosy yet spacious and had a 'home' like vibe about them. The views from the room were breathtaking, overlooking Grande Anse beach and the town of St Georges in the distance. The sunset views from the room were incredible. Included in the room is a mobile phone pre loaded with useful contact numbers for you to use at your leisure when off the resort. This was a great touch as it enabled us to make local phone calls and contact the resort without worrying about extra charges from using our own mobile phones. Breakfast at Mount Cinnamon was delicious and varied, from the buffet to the breakfast menu, you would not get bored of the options. I think we enjoyed breakfast a little too much! The food served in the beach cabana Savvy's is also really good. The beach activities were also great, with lots of options (e.g. Hobbie cats/ kayaks/ paddle boards). Thank you to Shakeem for your help with the activities when on the beach. The hotel is about a 10 minute walk to a large supermarket stocking everything and more that you may need. Overall we had an excellent time at Mount Cinnamon. The laid back yet attentive approach made for a stress free and relaxing holiday We will definitely return toGrenada and Mount Cinnamon soon!
