Time for a refresh

Sep 27th, 2019

We booked the Nantucket Inn months ago to attend a wedding. We appreciated the convenient shuttle bus and nearby bus stop to get around the beautiful island. The staff were friendly and available. Mom’s breakfast was a delicious buffet. We booked a king suite. It was clean but for the price point and Nantucket style it is definitely time for an upgrade and refresh. The bed was comfortable but upgraded linens would be so nice. The bathroom was quite dated with a beige plastic tub/shower enclosure and shower curtain. The room was spacious but dark and heavy. A light bright design would be an appreciated upgrade. And it is time to use live plants and flowers and get rid of the fake flowers. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

1st time in Nantucket

Sep 11th, 2019

I really liked this hotel. It was extremely clean and neat, the staff were very friendly, in my room was exceedingly clean. They have a coffee, tea, snack bar, available at all times. Nothing fancy, but it's free, just cookies and chips--but free. Their breakfast is expensive, whether you are a fruit and yogurt person, a fresh waffles with topping person, or eggs, bacon, ham, potatoes, pancake person. Unfortunately, I was there during Hurricane Dorian, so was unable to avail myself of some of the other things they offer. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

We stayed here for two nights because we had a wedding to attend in Nantucket. When we checked in, the front desk staff acknowledged that we were there for the wedding and even gave us a gift bag that the bride and groom prepared for us. The room was very simple, much like you might find at a shore town except there was no beach nearby. It is across the street from the airport. We heard good things about the buffet breakfast however, we did not enjoy it. None of the cooked food was outstanding. It was average at best. Nobody came to clean the room until 2:45 pm which was really inconvenient since we were getting ready for the wedding that started at 4:30. When the housekeeper knocked on the door, we told her it wasn’t a good time so she asked if we needed anything so we got more towels. Since the staff knew we were attending a wedding, you would think they would alert the housekeeping staff so they would come to clean earlier. Whenever we were in the lobby during our stay, we would hear the front desk staff ask people how their stay was. We couldn’t wait for them to ask since we had plenty to say. It figures that they did not ask us. We did not enjoy our stay here but we loved the wedding that we went to. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

We love staying at the Nantucket Inn. We always feel so welcome, like we are coming home. The staff is wonderful, always welcoming you with a warm smile. The rooms are exceptional. Always clean and comfortable. The amenities are also great, with the indoor and outdoor pool. The courtyard areas are relaxing and nice to sit and unwind after an afternoon at the beach, which is right down the road. And we can't forget the best breakfast on the island. The Mom's Breakfast is something we look forward to every year, delicious waffles, pancakes, bacon, and all the fresh fruit. We can't wait to come back home next year, we are already planning it. Thank you for making our stay so wonderful. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Quick trip to Nantucket

Aug 26th, 2019

We decided to do a quick overnight visit to Nantucket for our Anniversary. Many of the hotels required a 2 or 3 night minimum. The Nantucket Inn did accept a one night reservation. The hotel is outside of the main downtown area. That might be a deal breaker for some but it is actually very easy to get around. They offer a shuttle service to downtown and a local beach with a very frequent schedule. There is also Uber, Taxis & public transportation on the island. The hotel is located across the street from the airport. I was nervous at first that it might be noisy but we honestly did not notice that at all. The accommodations were very clean and comfortable. We had a room with a queen bed, bathroom with sink inside and another sink outside the bathroom (a feature I love). We found all of the staff to be extremely friendly and helpful. When we were back for the evening, we had a knock at our door and one of the staff presented us with a bottle of wine and a lovely note wishing us a Happy Anniversary. This is one of those "above and beyond" moments that really help to set the customer service apart. Thank you for that gesture! In the morning they have an amazing breakfast..."Mom's breakfast" This is included in the room fee. (don't forget to tip :) The decor throughout the hotel was very nice. Overall, we had a really nice stay. It was our first overnight on the island, so I can not compare it to any other location but we have no complaints and had a very enjoyable weekend.
