Hotel's customer service and Driftwood Room's cuisine receive high praise from guests
Some past visitors wished rooms had more counter space
Previously a glamorous 1950s Miami Beach staple, the Nautilus, a SIXTY Hotel reopened in October 2015 after a multimillion dollar renovation. The hotel is set on Collins Avenue, the buzzing city's main thoroughfare, which gives guests easy access to the trendy eateries and nightclubs in South Beach and many other top attractions. Aside from its ideal beachfront location, the hotel offers several on-site amenities, including a spa, a heated saltwater pool (which has an underwater sound system) and the Driftwood Room, a Mediterranean-inspired eatery that receives high marks from past diners. When it's time to retire to your digs, you'll find rooms feature 48-inch flat-screen TVs, Nespresso machines, bluetooth docking stations and beds dressed in custom-made Sferra linens. (Some visitors do warn that counter space is lacking.) Overall, recent guests said they were impressed by how smoothly this hotel is operating, consider it opened in October, and noted the employees were helpful and attentive.

Travel + Leisure

Sixty Hotels completely revamped the old Nautilus Hotel designed in the 1950s by Morris Lapidus, the architect famed for some of Miami Beach's most extravagant properties. Lapidus's signature circular lobby with its cylindrical columns stayed, as did the original building’s bones, but just about everything else has been refreshed.
