Comfortable and modern hotel near the port
Sep 6th, 2019
We stayed two nights at the New Hotel and were pleasantly surprised. It took us about 10 minutes to walk to the old port, yet it was so quiet at night, you'd think you were in the middle of nowhere! (We had room 322 at the back of the hotel, not overlooking the pool and bar). The hotel is quirky and modern, the pool is great for relaxing. Our room had a HUGE bed that was incredibly comfortable and the air con was a welcome relief. Bathrooms were lovely and clean, with very posh complimentary toiletries, dressing gowns and slippers. Mini bar and TV in the room too. My only criticism is that the restaurant was pricey, so we opted to walk into the port for food, or to visit local boulangeries we found in the side streets - there's lots of choice. Decent hotel and location- poor restaurant service

We recently stayed at the New Hotel of Marseille for 3 nights. Rooms were nice and clean, and the pool area was great. Unfortunately on our last day we were told we couldn’t eat lunch at the restaurant because they had a convention earlier and they were very busy (with very few occupied tables they definitely weren’t still busy). We questioned the closing time of the restaurant, they replied ‘now’, which was at 13:50. This differed from their advertised open hours of noon-14:30. Very disappointing and sadly affected our last day and otherwise pleasant stay. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Lovely hotel near the port

We had a lovely time at the hotel. We decided to upgrade our room to one with a balcony which is definitely worth it if you are there for a week! Our room 416 had brilliant views of the port and city! Pool was much needed after a day of walking round the city. We always managed to get a sun lounger but did get busy during the mornings. They provide towels so you don't need your own. We had sun all day on the pool but can imagine at different times of the year this might not be the case as there is a high rise building that could block the sun in the afternoon in the later months. Can't really comment on food or drinks as we went out in the evenings. A half pint and glass of wine set us back 12 euros on the first day so we decided to go out for drinks instead. Reception staff were always friendly and polite. Would recommend the hotel and great location for the port. About 10/15 mins to the port and metro stop. Electric scooters were often available on the main road and a great way to explore the city! The small beach is a 5 min walk in the opposite direction to the port too! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Perfect week in the sun destination!

The hotel was approx a 10min walk from the Old Port where there was lots of restaurants, bars & tourist attractions. We picked this hotel for the pool and it did not disappoint! It wasn’t too busy and the staff came round in the afternoon with free poolside fruit. We didn’t eat breakfast in the hotel as it was quite expensive (€17 per person per day) but there was a great bakery 2 minutes away and also lots of other options in the port. Our room was cleaned everyday and the whole hotel was kept perfectly clean. The staff are very attentive on reception and at the bar. I would definitely choose this hotel again! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Good sized beds, nice clean showers. Trendy kinda couples hotel to give it a label. Average cocktails, friendly bar staff. Incline walk from the harbour to the front door. Approximately 15 mins. Third visit in 6 years. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
